Hey, I remember talking to libertine about this quite a few months ago and wanting to pm you SH about this before now.... of course I've been so busy and preoccupied. Money is low and I'm sure tickets are now too?

In any case, I'd still like info. on this because if things could work out I'd love to show up with a few people. :)

One more off-topic note: He doesn't like being called AOS3 (spelled out). He says his name is Owsley Stanley, period, no "third", no Augustus.

BTW, he's gone deaf (can't imagine why...), that's why I could never talk to him by phone, and only had an email exchange. He refused to meet me for an interview because I wouldn't pay him for it (and he can't hear).

You'll probably get whatever you order, but like I said, don't hold your breath cause where he lives in Queensland is about as far off the grid as you can get. Plus he might've sustained a lot of damage during Cyclone Larry last year.

I found this interesting tidbit about him on wikipedia:
Stanley firmly believes that the natural human diet is a totally carnivorous one, and that all vegetables are toxic. He has eaten almost nothing but meat, eggs and cheese since 1959, and claims that his body has not aged as much as the bodies of those who eat a diet considered to be more normal. He is convinced that insulin, released by the pancreas when carbohydrates are ingested, is the cause of much damage to human tissue and that both forms of diabetes mellitus are caused by the ingestion of carbohydrates.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, another anti-carb nut. I wonder if he still thinks he's in such great shape at 72. He's not handing out photos...

Sorry SH, for the OT postings! I should be banned! ;)

Have a great party at Goodstock, y'all!

Hi Tommy, me again. It's great to see ya on hip forums! I hang here alot, mostly in the political threads I'll admit, when I'm not gardening or practicing or rabel rousing...

Wierd how ya gotta go to some forum to talk to friends...

We're gettin' ready. Things down on the Horse of a Different Color Ranch are busy, even tho no "Always Free Jamfest" this year. We tend to get outstanding company from all over the U.S. these days. But it's GREAT to be attending someone ELSE'S big event for a change. The Jamfest kept us tied to the Ranch most of the summer.
Lot's less work for everyone. Can't wait to see ya at Goodstock! We'll do some jammin' at some point hopefully. (If not, come visit sometime, ya know where we live!!!) Hammer will be there too with BELLS on...
Great idea posting links to some of yer music... I'm gonna get Stevie to put up a couple songs NOT on our website (http://erthma420.wirefire.com/) for folks to listen to. And I just finished writing one - gonna record it soon - where I actually play the GUITAR...:) By the way, who does yer CD's?

I'm psyching myself for a massive PEACE and BROTHERHOOD campaign at GS... "Hug at least one person today".....

Oh yea, you'd really like Shameless Heifer, she's a true sister. Maybe if we all get real lucky we can meet her in person.....

    Peace, Love, & Plenty Music,

I'm glad I found it too...... I've been reading the posts for a month or so.... Everyone was looking a little down about Goodstock lately so I decided to post when I finally heard it was a go to cheer everybody up a little bit.....

I do my own CD's girlfriend.... I record 'em right here.... and I make 'em right here... Then I give 'em away. My thoughts on the matter always was that if you want to be heard, put the music out there, and the fan base will follow. So far thats been pretty true. Hopefully.... I'll be able to get this all done by the time we have to go to Goodstock. I'll be bringing the Mobile Unit with me to record some of it. Really depends on whether I have enough tape with me but I think I've got enough.

Shameless..... You can get me at 1dustyeod@suddenlink.net . Seems I'm going to have to check my EM on the web page... Something must be up with that... Hmmmm.??

I hope all is well.... sounds like it is... I'll see everybody real soon... Jammin.

You know.... I was really excited about all the 'older' bands and Woodstock veterans that were supposed to come to this. There is another forum that had a post about getting in contact with a bunch of 'em. I've actually met a few..... this is what I posted there... and I firmly believe it. I hope to see everybody there at Goodstock. We'll rock without 'em...

Personally...... I think that all the original bands have forgotten what its like just to show up, have a good time, and play music for enthusiastic people. Even though ALL of THEM are now megastars and multimillionaires a couple times over, they've apparently forgotten what it is to have fun. And thats what music is all about.... Having fun.

    Woodstock Band Veterans

Thats why I signed on for this gig...... It actually all started at The Horse of A Different Color Ranch Annual JamFest in Arnoldsburg WV that Patsy and Steve put on every year. I have been a part of that Jam for a number of years and it has always been a highlight of my summers. Getting together with friends, playing great music until the wee hours of the morning, partying and having fun..... People have come from all over the United States for this party/Jam. It might have moved to Summersville.... but the core people are still there. The attitude is still there.

And we'll get it done without any of the so called "stars".......

    Why?

    Because we STILL know how.........

The water is rising..my lovely veggie gardens are flooded..the main house garden is next to the stock pond where we raise our bait fish and Koi, has taken on over the lower half of the garden and pooled up against the backside of the barn about two feet of water. the torrents of rain continue, day after day of heavy rains and thunder and lightening storms beat down on Texas. The sun tries despertly to break through the black clouds that have been a constant for months on end now.

Some places in Texas got 25 inches of rain in two hours. We heard on the news a 20 ft wave it some areas. 11 people have lost their lives so far in the flood waters.. We are ok for the time being our place in up on a hill.. as long as the Lake Fork damn holds. We are surrounded by lakes. Lake Quitman, Lake Winnsboro, Lake Fork, Lake Hawkins, Lake Holbrook, Lake Cypress Springs, Lake Lydia, Clear Lakes, Lake of the Pines, Lake Bob Sandlin and Holly Lake, we're right in the middle of lake country.

Weatherman says sill more rain everyday next week, If the Sabine River floods I don't know what we'd do.. good grief that weather is gone crazy, the last seven yrs we have been in a drought, last yrs the lakes were down 8 to 10 feet below normal this yr it is the exact opposit. Everything is starting to smell like mildew it's stays so wet.

We lost a nest of guinnas yesterday, they hatched in the field and drowned all but one an it's inna box on my kitchen table, I'm losing some of my best sitting hens they wont move off their nests an they drown.when the rain blows in. I lost two yesterday, Rhoad Island Reds.

I've been trying to keep the veggies picked, at least the ones I can still get to. The rain and 80% humidity has propelled produce production tremendously an I have been picking around 25 gallons of tomatos a day, I getting worried to go in the waterlogged garden now as the copperheads and cottonmouths are plentiful and seem to be everywhere. The hay in the fields have rotted and no food for the livestock this winter.. people are losing everything. This is a farming/cattle ranching/Dairy Farms community.

Goodstock will be a great change of seneary for me. I'll be the one in the flat bottom boat, paddling my heart out. :)
    Bright Blessings

Holy shit lady, we are in mid drought here. A tiny bit of torrential rain barely put water in the creek... We're officially an emergency area as of yesterday... But WV's full of water anyhow, springs are still runnin' good. And thank heavens for the pond! There might be a burn ban in effect during GS, so campfires could be a total no-no... But if anybody gets TOO hot, there's always someplace to swim.
Anybody in Summersville know any good swimmin' holes?

Soooo sorry to hear about your weather woes SH. We are surely parched here in WV.
Earthmother, I don't know the area of Summersville at all, so unsure of where to swim, except maybe Summersville Lake?
Hope everything is going well up at Horse of A Different Colour.
    Keep your spirits up SH!
    Peaceful thoughts to you both....

Unfortunately.... During a festival a couple weeks ago that we played in Summersville,,,,, I heard from a pretty reliable source that they were giving out tickets for jumping off of the rocks around Summersville Lake...... Something that I've done as a normal thing all of my life....

I swear.... Sometimes......I just don't understand the world these days....

But ....... thats just me..... Maybe I lead a sheltered life or somethin'......

19 day and counting till Goodstock folks!!!

It's still raning here..we had a half a day of sun yesterday but the rain came late afternoon.. it's was a doozy, droped 3 inches of rain in one hour, we lost eletricity for a few hours.. it's still raining, suppose to rain all week again.

Patsy, we were a disaster area last yr from drought.. funny how things change so quickly.. funny story.. My son Jom made me a staff from a Diamond Willow, whick is a water stick.. last yr when it was so very dry my two grown neices and me.. well we did a rain dance with the staff and chanted for rain.. we did the when a rain cloud was nearing us.. we did manage to get a few drops an continued to chant and wave the staff in the air.. well.. carefull what you chant for cuz you can chant to much. Look at us now.. 2 inches of standing water in my front yard.. we have to get the little ones to go in and pick tomatos bc they don't sink in the mud like us grownups. I've lost my shoes in the mud. I'm not complaining, some have lost their homes, others have lost their lives.

    Bright Blessings

Yes, you can park next to your campsite.. there will be securty in the camping area also.. the Ranch has even hired extra security, so I don't see a problem arising.
