Finally.. IE Free.. Thanks to Mozilla FireFox! Until now I stuck with my clogged up slow Internet Explorer because: a) it was there and besides.. everything is Microsoft anyway. b) I didnt care for Netscape or most of the Mozilla's Ive tried (many were no faster and had their own fluff and didnt show sites properly) So I get Hijacked by the dreaded 'About:Blank' homepage Malware/Spyware thing. I cant get rid of the damm thing and someone recommeds Mozilla FireFox . WOW! Fast fast fast.... no fuss, no muss - even imports your IE bookmarks. Did I mention fast? If you want to get yourself free from IE then run.. dont walk.. run to this site http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ (at worst.. I find pages made with 'Frontpage' tables will not always show up properly.)
Thanks for mentioning those other benefits guys.. NO pop-ups and the tabbed windows options. (yeeha.. i havent played with all the stuff yet) Personally - I love the google box in the corner too No pop-ups anymore and lightning fast. Browser Heaven.. and I will never go back again either! *starts kissing firefox title bar mmmm*
I like Mozilla's built in download monitor. Note even if you are usingn mozilla, you will still want to apply patches for IE as they are realeased from M$ because other system components may use them as well.
Good Point Xaioflux. Ive noticed my online banking seems 'confused' if I visit using Firefox, so sometimes I use IE. Sometimes you may actually want pop-ups too. In this forum, a new PM will want to pop-up in a new window and Firefox wont allow it by default. No problem becuase the PM will still be in your inbox. But just noting - sometimes there are 'good pop-ups'. Oh.. another tip: Dont forget that you may have to configure your 'window washer' or manually delete your history from FireFox / Mozilla yourself. This is mainly a 'heads-up' for those certain males who may not want a certain female user (or boss) to know certain things
Well, you can allow Popups from pages you want. Just browse through the preferences, you'll find it. @cortney: You have to download the plugin from macromedia.com in order to see Flash
