Oh well another barefoot weekend drawing to end and I now have to mentally prepare myself to wear shoes and socks for work on Monday morning. Ugh! At least I can slip my shoes off under my desk (I keep telling myself).

Not had much excitement this weekend as I've had a cold, and no it's not because my feet are bare... managed a trip to the shops needed food and household bits n Bob's and I got in a nice walk with the dogs on Saturday night. Been raining on/off most of the day here which was quite refreshing under soles as I took the dogs for a lovely walk around the park, the edges of the fields have been chewed up by something so the mud was wet, cold, thick and super squishy!

Has anyone been out anywhere good this weekend? Do you hate putting shoes on on a Monday?

  2. Squishy mud? Walking barefoot purposely into squishy mud?? Getting one’s bare soles drecky with squishy mud??? Feeling it spurt sensuously onto the tops of one’s purposely bare feet???? mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Yes! Squishing through my toes and up onto the tops of my feet as I sink further and further in until my ankles are covered in mud

Love squishing my toes in mud. Heavenly!

And yes, I dread putting on shoes and socks on Monday. Ugh.

I sort of got forced into going barefoot today, I was at the coast and wearing wellies but a wave went over them - I’d rather not wear soggy socks so I went barefoot the rest of the day, a good enough excuse for me. Went shopping in B&M, B&Q, Pound Stretcher, these places are usually a chore but in bare feet it feels great, if you go in with damp soles the warm dusty tiles feel wonderful :grinning:. On the way home went for a walk in a quiet woodland, it was very muddy and slippery in parts and my feet got complete submerged but it felt amazing, didn’t really want to go home but it started raining. I can’t understand why shoes are the default - it was 9c and my feet didn’t feel cold at all, the ground is so mild for the time of year

Wow. Puddle hunting is powerful among us. I'm in too, my favorite paths are the muddiest ones, though lately what I like the best is going off-road in deep grasses and whatnot
the only downside to mud hikes is that you should carry along a spare pair of trousers

  8. I can't even imagine what it would feel like to walk through the mud with bare feet, lol .... even at home, I have slippers on in the house, shoes or boots when I go out. Do you have to wash your feet every night before you get into that bed? Or you would get the sheets all dirty, Ha, what a hoot, but for sure respect you for doing what you feel makes you happy. I laugh because I can't picture myself doing it. Maybe some day I will try it, lol

I just walked in long grass, it started raining and nothing cleans like it I also carry wet wipes and wash my feet at home so no stained bedding! I don’t seek out mud but walking barefoot is a more sensual experience, it feels amazing and is far better for your feet. If I’m wearing shoes I get tired quite quickly but barefoot I’ll walk and explore all day. You should give it a go then you’ll never want to wear shoes or slippers again!

Start by going barefoot around the house and then venture out to a place you’d feel comfortable being barefoot - a park, the beach, a nice wooded trail. You just might enjoy it!

  12. Good Lord, going barefoot is AMAZING. A little at a time if you’re a beginner, and find easy fun surfaces, like sand, grass, and mud (so delightful) and graduate to pavement, cool at night or during spring, then barefoot after a good soaking rain (another wondrous set of sensations) and onto hot summer pavement, store floors, and so on. It’s all about sensation and ease of walking. Going barefoot is wonderful, which is why so many people detest it.

If you drive to work, why not put them on in the car before getting out for work, and taking them off when you get into the car after work? Or if you use public transport, the same thing except once you get off at your stop before work, put your shoes on and once you leave work, take them off.

It's only a 10 minute drive away plus theres all the faff when I get to work off putting shoes and socks on. I have and I do drive home from work barefoot, even stop off at the supermarket occasionally.

If I've been out in the mud I'll wash my feet as soon as I'm home, I keep a towel by the door which gets the bulk of the mud and dirt off.

The Ideal Solution For Barefooters To Clean Their Feet Before Entering The House Is............

A Tray......A Kittie Litter Tray Is Perfect........Half Filled With Pebbles.......With Water Just Over Them.

Rub Your Feet Back And Forward A Few Times And Then Stand On A Towel For A Few Seconds.

    Works To Perfection......

    Cheers Glen.

I’m mainly a fair weather barefooter! The beach is usually a bit cold for me at this time of year, loved the barefoot shopping though and my woodland walk, wouldn’t have dreamed of doing those in the Beast from the East a couple of years ago!

Well Monday over wasn't so bad, had the office to myself in the afternoon so I could bare my feet. Plus on the way home i stopped off at dunelm to buy some new pillows, always like wasting an hour in there walking around barefoot.
