There are a bunch of "classic" electronic/dance albums out there. I guess you could classify them as "the best of" in the genre. Some place had a list of albums that rang in this category, here are a few I can remember:

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient works 85-92
    Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman
    Kraftwerk - Autobahn? Computer World?
Those are a few that make THE list, then theres a bunch that make my own best of list. I could tell you what they are, but the groups were already mentioned many times on this thread.

Oh yeah and who here has seen any live electronic acts? Someone mentioned squarepusher..that must have been awesome. Was he making dance music at a show, or was it a more private venue, more toned down?
I saw orbital in NY while they were touring for their album "the alltogether" it was quite fascinating. I danced and never stopped.

If you want to get into Trance, I recommend Dave Pearce's Euphoria series - there's some good quality stuff on there.

And for Progressive House, well look no further than Global Underground - I've got quite a few of the Nu Breed CDs and they're all good.

Other favourites of mine are Danny Howells' Nocturnal Frequencies series, Lexicon Avenue's Nitelife, and Satoshi Tomiie's Undulation.

www.thedjlist.com and go from there.. I would recommend Carl Cox, Paul Okenfold, BT, Ferry Corsten, almost anything by Tiesto, Cosmic Gate (lesser known) Cheers to everyone!

Oh go on KaZaA and search "ecstasy" you should get a bunch of songs that come up under unknown artists...Very cool tunes!

Also anything off Darude's new CD Rush is excellent. Especially the title track.
