Check out the French electronica duo, Air.
You could also try Cornershop, Mogwai, Explosions in the Sky, Eivind Aarset, Miles Davis.

Oregon's "Out of the Woods", very earthy and spacey at the same time. Also, Pat Metheny - "As falls Wichita, so falls Wichita Falls" - also earthy, yet spacey and dream-like.

Old school Genesis is probably the best music for any psychoactive experience. I have yet to find a substance that does not enhance the beauty of an album like "Selling England by the Pound (1973)."

Jefferson Airplane is good. My friend recommended me the album, 'after bathing at baxters', i listened to it the other evening (about two weeks ago really) after eating around two grams of B+ (strain) mushrooms. Very enjoyable indeed. :)

Depends what kind of trip I want to have, I kind of categorize trippy music as either light or dark, alot of the stuff in the dark section, well I wouldn't reccomend them...they will take your trip to the darkest recesses of the human soul. I don't ever trip with other people and then play songs or albums from my dark list.

    light
    sigur ros
    M83(their shoegaze dream pop albums)
    Aseop Rock
    Birdy Nam Nam
    Gorillaz
Trance songs with Cascada like Heaven and Everytime We Touch are great
    Yndi Halda
    Clint Mansell
    Max Richter
    Ludovico Einaudi
    Electric Light Orchestra
    The Moody Blues
    Slowdive
    Burial

    Dark
    Asunder
    Sunn 0)))
    Deathspell Omega
    Lustmord
Wolves in the Throneroom (Two Hunters)
    Godspeed You! Black Emperor
    Red Sparrowes
    Weakling
    Nightbringer
    Temple of Not
    Deseridii Marginis
    Lurker of Chalice
    Lo-Ruhamah(The Glory of God)
    Twilight(new album)
    Hypothermia
    Sephiroth
    Isis

I am a fan of psychedelic music but IMO shpongle sucks unless I'm either tripping or incredibly high (which makes everything sound good, but Shpongle then sounds better than most other music). Does anybody else experience this with Shpongle or any particular artists/groups?

Boredoms, Can, Prince Rama of Ayodhya, Big Blood. Early Pink Floyd (ie Piper at the Gates of Dawn & Saucerful of Secrets) is still the best imo.
