Charlotte NC has passed a municipal ordinance banning discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, familial status, veteran status, pregnancy and natural hairstyle in public accommodations, vehicles for hire and employment. It is five years since North Carolina introduced its infamous "bathroom bill". It was quickly repealed, but in its place was a ban on municipal anti-discrimination bylaws. That ban has now expired.
