Greetings Friends, I stumbled upon your forum in my search for a like-minded communal living situation. So, about us: My husband and I just want to be happy, to live off of the land and love like God intended. To find a place to share ideas with other like-minded people, and to give all that we have in order to create a better place in this world. We have been together ten years and have three children, two teenage daughters and a three year old son. He is a remodeling contractor with his own established company, the man can build and fix anything...including small engines, vehicle engines, framing, roofing, painting, plumbing and electrical and I am a Human Services professional with a heart for understanding people and a love of children, I have an associate degree in Human Services and am working on my bachelor of Psychology with the intention of becoming a Life Coach. We both feel that our talents and skill sets could be better used in a small community setting and would love to be able to start one of our own, but funding has been an issue, it's so hard to save money with kids and a home to maintain. Our current living situation will allow us to basically pick up and go at any moment, we are currently renting our house, we own both of our vehicles, the only debt we have is for my education, and neither of us have traditional jobs where we answer to a boss. We love art and music, dabble in jewelry making and crafting, we love camping and being outdoors, we have a basic understanding of green living, have had a wood/coal burning furnace, we have gardened (peppers, beans, tomatoes, greens, herbs, garlic, onions, grapes, berries, etc.) and canned, we love to cook, and it is a goal of ours to build a self-sufficient off-grid cabin in the next five years. We are both proficient in computer operations, have passive and likeable personalities and are open minded to alternative ideas about just about everything, including religion, alternative medicines, "drug" use, and relationships. We are Christians, but not in the traditional sense of the word, we don't follow the Conservative Right and their ideas, we folow Christ's teachings on love, empathy, forgiveness and charity. I do share one idea of alternate medicine with u. me a 54 yrs male from India & always prefer alternate medicine; I believe one can avoid diseases or cure himself by small manipulation of diet. I am forester by profession
