To be honest; I wish there were three different levels here (Beginner - Intermediate - and Advanced). That way we could keep moving the bar higher instead of losing so many of our knowledgeable contributors to more sophistocated forums.

"But 99% of all these questions on this forum can be found in a book!"
The answers to 99% of these questions can be found right here! With a minimum of effort it is easy to see that the same few, basic, questions keep getting asked over and over. Doesn't that just cry out for a Beginner's Section of some sort?

"So tell me, what the hell do we have this forum here to begin with?"
Well - that's a very good question! Should we fill up a huge archive with repetitous explainations of why incandescant lights are no good for growing or should we leap ahead and break more new ground. I don't see why we can't "Burn the candle at both ends" and in the middle, with a three level system. Of course there should be a place for utter "Newbs" to learn the basics - there should also be a place were the lowest common denominator doesn't impede progress!

"Who gives a shit if it's a stupid question or some advanced one by an experienced grower."
I do!!! As long as they are not separated somehow. Isn't that why we have elementary schools - high schools - and colleges?

If you ask me, most of these so called experienced growers ruin forums like this because their head swells up so big that all they can do is look straight down on the newbie growers and try to make them look inferior.
That reminds me of a joke - The woman says "Does this dress make me look fat?" The man says "No, your big ass makes you look fat!" I have no desire to make anyone look inferior, but sometimes the ignorance in the question can't be ignored. Let me give you an example or two. Some questions start out; "I am a complete beginner at this, can I blah-blah-blah?" So we explain as best we can. Other questions start out; "This is what I'm going to do; what do you think?" So we tell them what we think. Some people don't take criticism very well, that's thier problem - not mine.

"And to Cammo, isn't the idea of these forums to get as many people in here as possible no matter what experience they have?"
I think that the main idea is for those who have the experience and knowledge; to be able to share it with those that don't. Otherwise it would be "the blind leading the blind" and it ain't nobody gonna learn nothin' that-a- way!

"It would take forever for someone to go through all these posts just to make sure no one has asked the same question they have."
If you had looked; you would have seen that you really don't have to go back very far for an answer, especially for basic stuff. It's the same, repeated, questions, over and over, about the basic stuff that usually gets the wise-ass answers. We expect the same topic to come up once in a while. but if it's on the same Menu page - that's just lazy!

"Don't reply to f'n thing if you're sick of seeing it asked!"
Sometimes I don't - but that's really not the point. It just adds to the clutter!

"It's too bad, i used to like all weed smokers because of the chill personalities that they have but this thread has definitly proven me wrong, I've never seen so many snob ass tokers in my F'n life!!!"
The Growers Forum ain't about stoner personalities - it's about real-world information. Welcome to the real world!

Wow Cammo, that's an impressive response! You replied to absolutly everything! Nice work! To be honest I actually agree with most of what you said too. You're exactly right that this forum needs sub forums to seperate the experiences here. But the problem that arises there is that you'll end up with beginners giving advice to beginners or to quote you "the blind leading the blind." That may or may not end up being the case, but it is a possibility. Then you will end up with those rookie questions back in the advanced forums. To be honest I have no clue what the answer to this problem is. So while the forum is the way it is, it would be a whole lot nicer in here if people were a little bit more tolerable of others and their so called "dumb" questions. This isn't some big pissing contest to show off who knows more about growing! It's here to pass down experiences to prevent people from going through the same mistakes that they went through!
And by the way, dont tell me about the real world. In the real world, if someone is acting like a bitch to me, I'd slap the F@#$ outta them! I have ZERO tolerence for people that think they have the right to make someone fell inferior!!

This is what I've seen happen here quite a bit; as new growers gain some success, some of them are more than glad to share thier experience and knowledge - maybe "show off" a little, that's cool! By the time that they have more and more success (and less problems) they have already helped a boatload of "Newbies". There will always be "Old Timers" browsing around to make sure nobody gets left high and dry (no pun intended).

By the time this grower moves up to the Intermediate level, hopefully, another beginner, or two, will take his place as the "show off".

that made a lot of sense, the 3 section thing would be good or even a straight forward grow guide to direct people to on the site with most of the simple questions answered or even better an f.a.q i seen one of em on overgrow which was pretty helpfull, i really cant go this shit when people think they can speak down on others who dont know much of growing (ive rarely seen it) in my view yer either willing to help them or not so either help or dont, speaking to em in a snide way is not something that should be on the cards id say, and endo yer totaly right ya aint gonna have some1 speaking disrespectfuly to ya on the street so why should ya have to sit back n take it on line just because they know more than you about growing, anyone who comes on here in the first place asking simple questions is doing so because they are interested in growing weed and id help with anything i can i dont give out a lot of advice as im very inexperienced myself.
