I was just listening to some Little Richard on LP... and not for the first time am I astounded at the man's delivery. This is some vintage rock-n-roll at its core. I cannot help but picture some white kids in a soda shop at the jukebox going ape over this as the older crowd cringes in horror.

Oh Yeah!! The original Specialty record was released while I was in school in the 50s and he's still one of my favorites. LR, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee came to my hometown casino!! Play Keep 'A Knockin' and remember the 50s, if you were there. Someone will put some up , I betcha. (his later recordings were good, but not as good as the first one.)

(Don't forget Fats Domino--he was right there with 'em)

Thanks, offset!! Imagine how a guy like me who could only hear stuff like big band, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett Eddie Fisher, and all the other pop stuff-----when all of a sudden BANG!! Little Richard and the others started rockin' us out in the 50s!! Keep 'a Knockin' is one of my all timers. Hope the young ones tune in to this great old roots rock.

Just went in and listened to Little Richard, Jerry Lee and one I forgot--Bo Diddely.. Anyone that says Elvis was the King of R&R ought to have their mouth washed out with soap!!!!

One of the videos showed Fricken Pat Boone singing the songs of the great ones to--as the white folks wanted--- clean them up from letting those scary blacks be where white girls might SEE them!! Pat fuck Boone was as white-bread-no soul as it gets. I only found Keep 'a Knockin one time and then I couldn't find it again. You can put up more if you feel like it--can't have too much of those giants of R&R.

Little Richard PLAYS THE HELL OUT 'A THE PIANO!!

MJ was a BALLADEER, compared to Little Richard and the other late 40s--50s originators of R&R.. He certainly had his place as do ALL offshoots of the originals. But please---try to imagine your favorite artist singing "KEEP 'A KNOCKIN' , "LUCILLE" or "SEND ME SOME LOVIN" like Little Richard. It's laughable!

I once heard a live version of 'Johnny B Goode' by Chuck Berry and have not been able to find the same recording since. But that was the most rock and roll performance I have EVER heard from any performer.

Something about the originals...no one else can beat them!
