I recently saw the Zac Brown Band perform at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. They did three unexpected covers: Whipping Post - Allman Brothers Band The Devil Went Down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels Band Metallica - Enter Sandman All were superbly done!
I think this is a Sublime cover but it may be the other way around. I don't know which came first, but anyway... I really like Reel Big Fish.
Oh I beg to differ! So many covers of Dylan songs are better than the Dylan versions.. All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix Knockin' on Heaven's Door - Guns n' Roses Mr. Tambourine Man - The Byrds to name a few.
I know. Now that I primarily listen to country music, I find that a lot of songs I like are actually remakes from older songs. Basically, I had a friend once once in a band who convinced me that cover bands were the worst. so i took the sword and oath with him on that.
TBH mate I think none of those come close To the Originals !! Dylan himself did some good covers though !
By Substituting that slightly grating Harmonica with the best lead guitarist ever, better drumming, more dynamics and a better singer.
Not saying its not OK but he turned it into a pop song ! It lost its Edge and Drive cant listen to that version nowadays
