The Best rock n roll was made between 1966 and 1972 NOT 1980- 1983 ,..THE BEST 80S MUSIC WAS MADE BETWEEN 1980 AND 1983 . THAT I AGREE.
it s so normal that it was in the 60s & 70s that i dont even talk about it... it s clear...yes... but you can understand it if you read the last words of my previous post... we both agree that the begining of the 80s were the best of the 80s ... :H & not the best since the begining of the Ages!
Dont bet on it a lot young people dont bother with 60s 70s music afraid of being label old or to white or to black,, also lots radio stations dont play lots of stuff from the 60s 70s or from 1966 onward. from 1960 to 1966 only a few artist had a grip. Beatles, Stones, less than a handfull. most of the druggy songs are avoided by radio stations since the early 70s. with the exception of Cocaine by Clapton that was play 24/7 for quite a long while.
The best music of the 80's certainly was not made prior to 83. Saying that tells me that you're either not familar with the music of the 80's, you're an 60/70's music elitist, or you're just not into heavy music. I won't bother naming songs in particular as so many great albums came out in the mid - late 80s. Master of Puppets - Metallica Trash - Alice Cooper Balls to the Wall - Accept Fistful of Metal - Anthrax The Last in Line - Dio Powerslave - Iron Maiden Rising Force - Yngwie Malmsteen Ride the Lightning - Metallica From Her to Eternity - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Born in the U.S.A. - Bruce Springsteen Haunting The Chapel EP - Slayer Stay Hungry - Twisted Sister 1984 - Van Halen Reckless - Bryan Adams Armed and Dangerous EP - Anthrax Bonded by Blood - Exodus Brothers in Arms - Dire Straits Come Out and Play - Twisted Sister Feel the Fire - Overkill Freaky Styley - Red Hot Chili Peppers I Am The Night - Pantera Killing Is My Business... Spreading the Disease - Anthrax 5150 - Van Halen Kicking Against the Pricks - Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds Orgasmatron - Motörhead Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? - Megadeth Pleasure to Kill - Kreator Reign in Blood - Slayer Somewhere in Time - Iron Maiden The Ultimate Sin - Ozzy Osbourne Into the Fire - Bryan Adams Among The Living - Anthrax Speed Metal Symphony - Cacophony Hysteria - Def Leppard Appetite for Destruction - Guns N' Roses Deathcrush - Mayhem Girls, Girls, Girls - Mötley Crüe Power Metal - Pantera Join the Army - Suicidal Tendencies The Legacy - Testament State of Euphoria - Anthrax In Battle There Is No Law - Bolt Thrower Danzig - Danzig Copperhead Road - Steve Earle Fabulous Disaster - Exodus Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - Iron Maiden Vivid - Living Colour So Far, So Good... whata hell your talking about? you are stiking 1970s artist in the 80s while this quite happen more than often i dont count them as groups who were form in the 80s . hell the rollin stones had hits in the 80s and they been around since early 60s. alice cooper trash is junk my friend alice cooper best songs and albums were the first 4 albums with billion dollar babies the last geat album. i love Van Halen but Van Halen was form in late 70s not 80s and they sound like a great rock band from the 70s. not 80s.
Ah yes, I am placing groups formed prior to the 80s in the 80s, why? We're talking about music of the 80's, not bands formed in the 80's. Whether or not you choose to credit it as such is irrevelent, it's just the way it works. Alice Cooper's Trash album is home to the track "poison", which is one of cooper's greatest hits. Regardless of what VH sounds like to you, the time of the albums released doesn't match what you believe to be a great rock band of the 70's. I guess it's time to realize that. Now, do tell, what great albums were released in the three years that you credit as being the best of the 80's?
In 1970, the band teamed up with fledgling producer Bob Ezrin on their album entitled Love It to Death. This was the first of more than 10 Alice Cooper group and solo albums done with Ezrin who is credited with having helped to create their definitive sound. A hit single soon followed in 1971's 'I'm Eighteen'. The band's trailblazing mix of shock and glam theatrics stood out amongst bearded, denim-clad hippy bands by sporting sequined costumes by the prominent rock fashion designer Cindy Dunaway (Pink Floyd, The Who) and stage shows that involved Gothic torture modes imposed on the lead singer. The follow up Killer included further singles in 'Under My Wheels' and 'Be My Lover' and also one of the most critically acclaimed Cooper songs in the epic 'Halo Of Flies', which was a Top 10 hit in Holland. In the summer of 1972, Alice Cooper served up School's Out to their hungry audience. The album reached number two on the charts and sold over a million copies. The title song went Top 10 in the US and was a number one single in the UK.
Billion Dollar Babies, released in 1973, was the band's most commercially successful album, reaching no. 1 in both the US and Britain. 'Elected' a 1972 top 10 UK hit included on the album (featuring one of the first creative promo films 3 years before Queen's promo video to 'Bohemian Rhapsody'), was followed by 2 more UK top 10 singles in 'Hello Hooray' and 'No More Mister Nice Guy' which was the last UK single from the album and also reached number 25 in the U.S. The title track was also a US hit single. With a string of successful concept albums in the bag and several hit singles, the band toured the world - attempts to ban their shocking act by politicians and pressure groups only serving to fuel the myth of Alice Cooper and generate more audience interest. The 1973 US Tour broke box office records set by The Rolling Stones.
The band's first studio album, Van Halen, released in 1978 NOW dont forget they prob playing together a few years early lets say 1977 or 76 thats 1970s my friend .
Yes, thats nice, but when did they release 5150? That's mid 80's my friend. Meaning that it was music of the mid 80's.
sorry thats not from stupid generalise wikipedia and for your personal information i saw alice cooper in his last Killer tour in a nice aircondition hall for only $6.50 and Billion Dollars in a overcrowded with out A.C hall for $7.00 ENTRANCE FEEE . AFTER BILLION ALICE COOPER SUCKS i think his alcohol problems did him in.
Once David left you can take all of van halen music and trash them. is really that simple. very short lived band in comparison to other 1970s bands . but longer than most bands of the 90s and today.
Thats an interesting opinion... not really, try as you might you can't discredit this band's mid-late 80's offerings. Do you know how many bands formed and disbanded in the 70s? I'm interested in the statistics of such a comparison. Of course bands that are still around from the 70's are longer lived than those around from the 80's, there's a decade's difference.
Thank you for wasting your time searching for album covers to support your opinion. I think the oldest cooper sounds gay in comparison to his newer stuff. He used odd sounds and happy catchy chorus hooks, and to me that is just annoying crap. Sure he had a few good songs, but Dirty Diamonds is even better than most of the songs on those cds.
Now you won the Retarded Award my friend and GAY = I LOVE THOSE HOMOSEXUALS LIKE QUEEN, DAVID BOWIE ETC ETC.
