a bowl of water was all that was needed to avoid this drama....it was the dudes neighbor.....means he had access to water and could have easily given water to the dog

instead the dude got indignant and decided to help himself to someone elses pet and now he is charged....not too bright

Rollingalong doesn't know shit about this. He lives in the country, on an island, somewhere in Canada.

This is a friend of mine and I can tell you exactly how things went down in this inner-city neighborhood in Atlanta.

It wasn't such a close neighbor that he could go home and get water. They were some distance from home walking their own dogs. He didn't help himself to someones dog. This is a dog that has previously hung himself on the fence at the end of the chain and had to be lifted back over to his own side. Steve freed the dog and the dog followed him and his dogs home.

He doesn't need anyone else's dog. He has rescued, vetted at his own expense, and found homes for a documented 90-something stray animals in that neighborhood in the five years that he and his wife have lived there.

He got 24 hours community service which he chose to work out in volunteering for 2 days at animal control.
