There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas The trouble with the maples And they're quite convinced they're right They say the oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light But the oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made And they wonder why the maples Can't be happy in their shade? There is trouble in the forest And the creatures all have fled As the maples scream 'oppression!' And the oaks, just shake their heads
I have a hard time with balancing the need to be alone with the need to be out. A good compromise is a place where I can see people, but not have to be "on." For me this can mean long, meandering walks through the city, neighborhoods, the countryside (anywhere really), the gym, various stores, nature trails, the beach, etc. If I am with friends--a coffee shop, the occasional bar, festivals, or other events.
same things everyone else said. beach, bar, friends' houses. anything else is uncommon enough not to make the list, unless i'm forgetting something. same. which is one of the reasons i dislike living here; if i go to any of those places there's a pretty damn good chance i'll run into someone i know and suddenly have to be all professional. well that's a strange place to go out to.
I forgot about the psychiatrist's office. Also restaurants. And sometimes some excursion just takes me far away from home.
Luckily i don't have a hard time with that balance. My answer would be similar to everyone. I'm outdoors a lot. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the cemetery. I find that to be a nice place to walk through that has a very peaceful vibe.
