Going Barefoot All Year

  1. Going barefoot in the Spring...
Sweet vernal earth to my soles does cling.
Fresh new buds round my toes-ies spring.
    I notice barefooting in Spring.

Now going barefoot in the Summer
Is GROOVY, YO, and not a bummer.
    What could honestly be funner
Than going barefoot in the summer?

And going bare-soled in the Fall
Loses none of its appeal at all,
Except for FREAKING ACORNS that do fall
Beneath my soles and cast a pall.

    Going barefoot in the Winter
    Is fraught...yet cooling
'Cause neighbors stare at me and wonder
WHO THE HELL I THINK I'M FOOLING.
