I'm trying not to read too much into it... it isn't easy though when you appear to be violating the guidelines I'm supposed to be enforcing... it makes it nearly fucking impossible to do what I'm doing without appearing to be playing favorites with the likes of you.

I respect tremendously that you have mastered our language and understand our "culture"... frankly I agree very much with many of the things you say about the U.S., its cultural flaws, supposed balanced information sources, and myopic view of the rest of the world. I'm painfully aware that I myself am a product of a flawed education system that indoctrinates more than it educates and have been steeped in a culture that perpetuates internal divisions like racism, sexism and offers all manner of recreational distractions that serve to keep people divided and fixated on issues that should not matter- like race.

I personally allow you to blow off steam and express your contempt for the internal dysfunctions here because quite frankly I share many of your attitudes but I prefer not to directly attack someone who reflects them even as he doesn't acknowledge their effects on him. Verbal assaults regardless of intent tend to harden such stances and the expressed hatred- whether or not it is real- only deepens the problem in my opinion.

There is truth in this - why are you hanging around people that obviously don't like you? Either you are trying to pick a fight yourself, or you don't care enough to alleviate any tension.

Those guys obviously were messing with you, and you let it get to you instead of playing it off and talking to them, you met them in a standoff. and techno, my faith in love is what got me through the night alive. i remember reading an article the other day about hitler writing a poem about how you're supposed to treat your mother well and be patient with her even though she can't hear. led me to believe that even this dude: a drunk 41 year old ex con crack/weed dealer who'd spent 15 years in prison had some heart in him. i think pretending to treat him like a mentor, like he could make a difference in my life, like it seemed everyone else around there treated him, saved my life.
