I am a habitual goal setter. Sometimes I meet them, sometimes I don't. What are some goals you've accomplished that you're proud of?
Im a goal setter, I set short term goals, semi short term and long term. Then I map out (with lists) how to attain the goal, with a step by step check list. Hm, well I've moved cross country twice (once at 19, the other time at 26) to experience more out of life and culture / our country. I graduated uni, which was tough for me haha I had my mind set elsewhere. Various other goals that are more personal.
Finished college, bought a house, live well completely independently not needing a thing from anyone. I don't really set goals in an organized way but there is plenty I want to accomplish still.
Mental note of goals can help give purpose, keep people on track, instill sense of accomplishment and esteem, escape from boredom. On the one hand, I experience life. On the other I play the game and it includes goals. You do set goals PR. If you didn't, you wouldn't have lost the weight. Your goal was what? Lose weight, healthy living? Not feel like shit on a daily basis?
Honestly speaking, I don't think I've ever achieved any of my goals. I've learned to just go with the flow and let things happen. I'm a conformist, so nothing really ever bothers me. If there's anything that I really wish I could accomplish, it's to lose weight and perfect my art style. Those are about the biggest goals I've ever had. One of my biggest flaws is that I'm a very lazy person and I procrastinate a lot, so I'm always failing at things, and quite honestly, I don't even care. I have my own way of living my life, and I just do what makes me happy.
I agree with you, but I can barely keep up with all my day to day stuff anymore so I don't really set any. But what you said is perceptive. Setting a long term goal and then short term goals to reach the long term.
To attract scores of women who look like you. In that case, I haven't reached my goal. It wasn't long before I realized that it's money, not looks, that matter to women.
earned my college class ring sweet humblebrag on a goal i'm about to start which is to climb the worlds highest mountains...leaving for Tanzania on Thursday to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro
I always have lists of goals and plans of how to meet them. So far there have not been many that I have not managed to accomplish. I may be perhaps a bit obsessive about goals and lists.
Lol. First off is you need to actually go out. Find a chick to wing you (I'm serious) and go out to some breweries or something. Then just be yourself. Minus the self deprecation. You'll be good. There are plenty of hot chicks that aren't a) tied down to some dude like happily, and b) not shallow to the point money is all that matters. Females will overlook a shitty personality for money (well, at least what seems like most), just as they will overlook no money for good personality. It goes two ways.
Goals I/We have achieved: - buy a house (Nov 2011) - have two or more children (May, 2010 we welcomed HeartBeat; Oct 2013 we welcomed SoulBuddy) - breastfeed HeartBeat for at least a year (she self-weaned at 2y8mo) - have a natural birth (SoulBuddy was born without induction and although I had an epi near the end, I transitioned from 2cm to 10cm so quickly that the drugs didn't take effect until it was time to push) Future Goals: - sell house and buy land - go off grid - homeschool both kids - help hubby cure his fibro - visit Australia More to come, I'm sure! HeartBeat -- my 4yo daughter SoulBuddy -- my 4mo son Superhero -- my awesome husband
i'm not sure that i really set goals either. i graduated college, got accepted to a PhD program, got a master's degree...so i guess they were goals. but i kinda just went through the motions, so i am not all that proud of those accomplishments. i'm thinking that i could benefit from making some more explicit goals. looks like rat is gonna need to get some money
