Gnostic Christianism

    The esoteric aspects of theology have to do with reality and its relation to our psyhological and physiological states according to the gnostics. The 12 apostles for example(astrotheologically) symbolize the zodiac. Jesus being the "sun". Theological part is the 12 cranials associated with the human body. [​IMG][/IMG]

    Many interesting things about the Gnostics. The attribution of the 12 apostles to the zodiac though is pretty stock stuff for occultism in general. Any number 12 tends to get thus assigned.

    To be very brief, it seems to me that the essential thing about so called Gnosticism (some scholars, eg Karen King say it never existed as a separate religion) is Gnosis - ie actual spiriitual experience and 'knowledge', as opposed to the orthodox idea of salvation via faith alone. I think too many modern writers on the topic get hung up on other aspects which whilst making interesting speculation, don't seem to offer much to contemporary humans.

    Check out the book "The Gnomes" by R. Poortvliet. You would probably enjoy it.
