I'm putting this thread in "politics" because sadly, global warming and global climate change have become issues of political partisanship rather than the strictly scientific issues that they are. It's common for people who oppose the scientific consensus on climate issues to point out how the term "global climate change" replaced "global warming" in the media, and it is commonly (and incorrectly) inferred that this represents and inconsistency.
