i don't know who you're talking to, but i've heard very few positive opinions about arranged marriage.

 

So in a nutshell, you're saying it was never about the money...it was always about the guy and the fairytale romance-swoon flirtation. The money was just a bonus and always will be.

Actually I disagree that it's fair to compare the two because it assumes a few things but here are a few things with your argumentation I find are false logic:

1. That parents of the betrothed in arranged marriages are doing this only for money and are not accounting for genuine getting along of the projected future husband and wife.

2. Nobody looks down on arranged marriages.

 

Idk how much euros are but if someone offered me 5,000 or more I might consider it only if my fiance was okay with it. Just because that could help pay our rent for 7 months and we're pretty broke.

If I were a gluttonous whore I could see it as being a bad thing. Me saying I'm going to be a prostitute so I can buy Manolos or whatever would be frivolous. I think doing something like that for survival isn't really wrong. People have meaningless sex for free all the time.

 

If I am not willing to have sex with someone, money is not going to change it. If I am willing then there is already no need for it.

The only time I would take money for sex is as a pro; but assuming the mentioned circumstances, it still applies that if you are not someone I would fuck otherwise, money is not going to help you.
