Girls who drink

I would say that I do a lot of drinking. I drink more often alone than with other people since I started university, and more so in the comforts of my home. I make a few martinis when a friend comes over to watch a movie, I'll have a beer after work, or I'll drink sangria while eating dinner.

One thing that I try to do before I go to a bar - is limit the amount of money I take with me. Because otherwise I could have the sudden urge to do 3 tequilla shots if I run into an old friend. Yeah, setting a limit to how much I allow myself to spend is a big thing that helps me stay away from drinking too much.

As a woman, I feel that it would be exceptionally dangerous if I were to get so drunk, that I was passing out, blacking out or had memory and motor function difficulty. The thing is, I think it's just as dangerous when guys get that drunk. For some reason, men tend to get so drunk that they black out more often than women do - but for some reason - it doesn't appear to bother them.

 

(for me) its not neccessarily ALL girls who drink are annoying and obnoxious (because most of them are which is a turn off) but some guys too. I think theres a line that you shouldnt ever cross, boy or girl when it comes to alcohol. Most young adults think its ok to get absolutely shitfaced just because alcohol is hands down the most popular amongst teens. But theres alot of situations where alcohol brings out the worst in people. But i know lots of girls who have LOTS of friends (all whom drink) that are complete idiots when drunk. They think its ok to be loud AS HELL and they are kind of in their own little world lol. This usually, is a turn off (unless some guys like that kind of girl which is totally possible). I think its smart not too drink very much, that way your atleast a little aware of your surroundings. And plus, alcohol can make you do really stupid shit (no matter who you are). So basically....everyone should just smoke weed instead lol

depends. a guy can drink too much and act "inappropiatley" just the same as a girl can. i know i've made an ass of myself, just as i know plenty of females that have done the same.

i don't care if a girl drinks. theres times for drinking in moderation, and theres times to get smashed. i respect anyone who says they don't drink if they live up to what they say. if they don't want to drink, fine with me. i'm not gonna tell my girlfriend she can't drink because she gets out of control a few times. life is way to short to worry about things like that - however, that doesn't mean i'm gonna approve of partying till you pass out unconcious because you drank more than you can handle...

 

I drink very regularly, but I VERY seldom get drunk. Its all about having a healthy attitude towards alcohol, and if that is in check then it can be a great relaxer. I love having a couple shots of rum with my boyfriend, and wine is how me and his mom bond. Then again I'm canadian

 

I wouldn't care, i wouldn't want to date an alcoholic though, and she'd still be responsible for all the things she does while drinking.

I dont drink often but im not against it.

They don't have to get all wasted, but i like to drink, so its nice to be able to share that together

 

As stated before.. life is short.
Getting drunk is lots of fun for some people.. let them have it.
What use is it for anyone to be abusing others that drink, or to be restricting their own fun for 'socially-acceptable' reasons. Get over it people. Alco is alco.. used for different reasons, just like lubricant - some use it for sex others use it to put on their wetsuits.. very different reasons and yet there is no reason to abuse one or the other.

spooner - I drink a lot socially. I also get drunk by myself at home after work, or while watching a movie, which may not exactly be "social". 85% of the time that I go to a bar I drive myself there, and I may or may not have a few drinks.

In a month, I would say that I have roughly 5 drinks a week. *shrugs* It's not as much drinking as I once partook.

On a completely unrelated sidenote - I got splashed today on the sidewalk by an SUV that went through a giant puddle when I was waiting for the light to change. Fuckin' soaked.

Why is there a difference in if a man drinks or a woman?

If they are a drunk, then either one is not worth a pinch of coon.......well you know.

I'm a dark beer girl too! We've been drinking a lot of Belgain beers lately too. I love Dogfishhead Chicory Stout. And my absolute favorite is Samuel Smiths Nut Brown Ale. Not too many gals like dark beer... at least not around here. Don't like my beer to taste like water though.

 

haha i don't really care, i just find it moderately funny you call that heavy drinking.

on a fun weekend night i'll drink more in one night than you will all month. and i put myself as a mid-level drinker. i have friends who drink a twix a day (although they're full-on alcoholics).

 

Wow... that ain't much. Most people I know drink between 1-5 beers (or the equivalent) every day Monday to Thursday then upwards of 10 on Friday and Saturday nights... then maybe 1 on Sunday.

But the definition of heavy drinking changes with location... you have to be a big drinker to be considered an alcoholic in Russia (or so I have heard).

I may just get a sixer this week, it's been at least 4 months since I had a real beer.
Mostly, I drink yuengling here because it's the best bang for the money...

But, speaking of Belgian beers, have you ever tried Chimay? Yummy stuff, supposedly made by monks...Hell monkeys could make it, tastin' that good I'd drink it anyways!

I never did understand those coors light guys. Yuck! Piss water..Why bother? & Even after abstaining for some time, I'd bet money I could drink a six pack of low carb beer & not catch a buzz...I still can't see any point to that either...If you don't like beer, why drink it?

 

I don't drink beer very often but I like dark beers too. I think I've had Chimay. That stuff is good, but so priceY!

 

Yes, Fritz we get the stuff made from monks all of the time. I don't remember all of the names I just remember what the bottles look like, my boyfriend handles the rest. LOL. He likes this one called Gulden Draak, but I like one with elephants on the bottle its a white bottle, and then one that is like Triple something or other.

They are very expensive usually average about $10/bottle (course these are the big ass bottles). I've always had expensive taste though and I would rather have a good beer, so I always spend more. I'm a beer snob I guess. LOL.

 

my ultimate situation is girls who drink only when i do. but not all the time while i do.

I'm with Spooner on this one: I'll drink a glass of wine with my Husband here and there or when we go out for dinner but other than that if we go to his mom's house he occassionally has a beer and i'll have a gingerale. i'm not a drinker and neither is he.

 

i drink................. girls can drink without being total butts... i like to drink and have a good time with my friends
