Meanwhile in Manchester: A £60m support package for businesses affected by new coronavirus restrictions in Greater Manchester will be distributed across the region Covid: Greater Manchester given £60m support package
It's still short of what is needed . The Scumbags have placed Manchester in restrictions since July . They must hate Manchester as much as I hate them
So we are in Tier three lockdown (No suprise there) Restrictions are set to be put in place (that will see social interaction kept to a minimum) Support payments are insufficient (Guess that'll mean Bills won't get paid). Strict control and banning of car-sharing for those wishing to take children to school (albeit that Children and teachers openly mix with together - 'mask - and socially distanced - free') These measures to be 'policed' and enforced by those whom a Mayor instrusts to do so - the same mayor who has openly advocated against it - anyone see the flaw here?
- That'll be the Council Tax going up then - Like that has worked!! - To be fair - I don't think it's just Manchester - It's the North!
Anyone who has been/lived in the North will testify to - If a rule of law is deemed to be unjust, unfair or acceptable - it will become unworkable, unmanagable and ultimately unenforcable
I will be just doing the bare minimum .We will however be in a sort of Police state so we all need to be careful. As regards the shortfall in funding , I think it was the Salford Leader saying it can't be from the council tax as they are already having shortfalls in funding ..
I will be doing what I think is right. - If my 84 year old all alone Mother needs me - I will be there
Yes - this why we asked for more - the question is, with the the reduced allowance given - should that go to Businesses, Medical falicities,(that's not even mentioning the Ambulance and/orFire service/s) or Police? In order to police these restrictions, the Police need funding to do so, ... and there ain't any money in the kitty!
Well we are shielding my mother in law who is 87 and dia be tic. Lucky for her all of us have had the virus and she did fork out for the Antibody tests as well .So she does feel safe albeit a prisoner in her own home. But I suppose all of us in Manchester are living in what is a modern version of a ghetto and really no better off .
That is a concern I am familiar with - therefore my girls, sister and I have come up with a contingency plan that stretches and bends, does not break the rules - (it's all about reading the wording and being particular) "Winter is indeed coming" and not a time for leaving them isolated
She isn't isolated as such as the family do visit her regularly. If anyone asks we claim support bubble status .Then most in her road are that sort of age as well with similar set ups. She does get frustrated as she hasn't been out of the house except for medical appointments since January so we have to remind her that it isn't safe out there .
Yes - I have tried to encourage her to get out of the complex she is in - albeit about 100 yards away to the local shop - but to go accompanied (socially distanced and masked up of course) but it can be hard to balance up independant living and social interaction. In the end it is a considered assessment - that has to be fluidic IMO - that needs to be maintained Hope you are mananging ok
So far so good .I just wished more would do what we are both doing .That way the vulnerable wouldn't be vulnerable .
Oh well life starts in Tier 3 today. According to the Manchester Evening News ,I can't supermarket shop with my wife.We will see about that .We intend going in 5 minutes apart and meet up near the DVD secation. It's sou nd's like meeting a girl at school behind the bike sheds Lol In all seriousness it's petty rules like this I have no intention of adhering to. Up yours Boris
Manchester: Tier 3 / Lockdown: So what's changed? Well for me, = not a lot. I am Working From Home, with appropriate IT supportive equipment. My employer/employment, is that which has degree of exemption from social interaction restrictions as/when circumstances present themslves. Being a 'lone' ranger I can shop, wander and travel (jn my car) as/when required My 'bubble' allows me to with my Grandchildren for essential childcare) Mum lives at the end /other side of the by-pass - in Cheshire - so 'lockdown' doesn't apply Ultimately human nature is, what it is. -and people (especially in the North) will take whatever action that is felt necessary and justifiable - with anything that is deemed as an unjust direction from National Government as "Guidance"
It may be raining outside - but that's okay. It's what we call in the City United of - Refreshment (May just celebrate) = MANCHESTER: a United City ""
