Getting high for the first time... NEED ADVICE!!!

yea agrreeed plus shes been close to a total mental breakdown recently..shes doin much much better now..but still..lsd could totaly throw her outta whack & screw up her whole world ..i told her to stick to weed for awhile

i agree.
people tend to lump all drugs or specifically all psychedelics together...

usually people tend to use weed first because it is readily available, lsd is not so much so. weed IMO is in no way preparation for lsd, and has very few similarities as far as effects go.

 

How can you say that? Weed is one of the easiest, if not the easiest, altered state to deal with. It is preparation as far as knowing what it's like to be in an altered headspace, and smoking a large amount of the heady ass nuggets is psychedelic in a way... but I see what you're saying it is preperation in the way I said, but it's not as far as actually knowing what it is to trip... nothing really can prepare you for that.

 

if driving a golf cart is preparation for driving a mac truck then i see what your saying...

 

i agree with 2ce, just knowing what its like to be in an altered state of mind will prepare you in some way, right?. when i first tried weed it was TOTALLY differant than i thought, and it was overwhelming at first, but once you try new substances you realize what its like and you arent as shocked by the feeling. the hardest drug this girl has probably ever done is asprin or a flinstones vitamin. skipping right to acid without any real research or experience would be pretty intense.

 

Panic attacks from weed can be just as bad as those caused by acid. I have had worse reactions with weed than I have had with ANY other drugs. I have had convulsions/siezures from smoking so much weed. Nothing like that has ever happened with acid/shrooms/2ce/pills..........just weed.

 

wow thats pretty crazy, seems like harder drugs would def have more of a chance of giving you panic atticks or seizures. weed just makes me so chill and happy i couldnt imagine having any adverse reactions.

Ive had many-a panic attack on weed, but never on any other psychedelic, even with fairly large doses of LSD, mushrooms, and avrage doses mescaline.

 

okay, one question about shrooms/lsd...
when tripping and u start losing it- do u still realise that youve only taken whatever and ur just tripping, and it will end- or do you start thinking its reality and shit. i mean like on weed when ur zoning out and thinking such retarded shit- and get a bit para-noid u know u just smoked alot of pot and thats the only reason ur like this, so u calm down. anyone know hwat imean kinda?

 

before i did acid, i did some research so i knew what could happen to prevent myself from freaking out when the acid took over. when my trip started, i could feel it coming, and then it just hit me. i went from like nothing to open eyed visuals and everything. so i didn't so much "lose it" as you say. i would think that you would have enough sense to realize it was the acid. when i was tripping i could talk fine you really couldnt tell anything was wrong besides my pupils being really big.

i could see how someone would lose it and freak out though. depending on how much you took and your trip, your trip will be different. i would try to get with people you trust and get along with and would do it when you could chill for a day and not run into to many people. i did it at a friends place and we hung out all day at and around his apartment.

 

so ur mind doesnt start thinking what u see is reality, say ur having a bad trip- seeing spiders snakes everywhere- will u know their really not there- its just cuz u took acid or would u think it was real?

 

IMO, what you see is reality. but just covered with patterns, colors, and moving/blending images. Ive never seen something that wasn't there (IE. snakes and spiders). i see my wall, for example, with pictures and posters moving and blending and melting. i see trails off of every moving object, and even on stationary objects if my head is moving. i see changing and exaggerated colors.
but for me, the images aren't the only good part, i really enjoy a good mind-fuck, where my mind races from though to thought for hours uncontrollably.

i am able to tell/remember that what is happening is caused by what i have just taken, if thats what your asking.

 

cool i had that same question too. good to know. im pretty sure thats not true though for drugs like crack or pcp... they TOTALLY buttfuck your mind.
