you shove a stocking over your hair when washing.... to stop them loosening thats lame though... wash when they need to be washed. Clean hair dreads dirty hair clumps. However when you do wash use the palms of your hands rather than your finger tips.
Nope no wax. My friend had some lock peppa stuff and I used it one dread to see if it made a difference. It doesn't. Thanks for all the help guys. I don't understand how a stocking thing is lame, but so long as they(dreadlins) aren't stinking or anything I'll avoid washing them until Sunday.
I would wait a week or two at least to wash them. It's taken a while to get to this point, but I was my hair once or twice a month. It never stinks, never itches, and there is no dandruff. What do I wash with? Water. Soap is kinda unnecessary. I used bronners and natural soaps and shampoos for years, and still use some of the them, just not on my hair. It's hard to get use to and you may even have to wean yourself of soap slowly, but in the end it's been the best thing I have done for my hair.
why people say wait to wash? is your hair/scalp acclimated to washing only once a week? i say stick to your regular washing schedule and slowly wean yourself off of it completely or to only 1-2 washings a week.
I couldn't not wait the two weeks that had been suggested to wait. I think I made it five days.... It was gross, I had to wash and after I did I felt much better about my dreads and my scalp. My hair didn't fall out either from washing. lol I'd just be a little gentle with it, but if you want/need to wash, then do it.
Lol ok. I already posted some, but I guess I can hit you up with a day 1 pic. brb EDIT: Day one. Been out in the sun (37degreesWoot!) with them and I got some weird looks. I also have this fat one that sticks out of the dead middle of the top of my head. I'm trying to pull it to one side with rubber bands so it grows out nicely.
