I want to get back into reading. I really like fiction. I'll be honest. I haven't really looked to see what books are out there. So what books do you all recommend to read?

Reading a review of that one---does look worthwhile! I like Tim Dorsey , Carl Hiaason and Dave Barry for laughs.--(Insane City by Barry and When Elves Attack by Dorsey is a good place to start.) They are all from Florida. As far as serious fiction--just look at the New York newspapers for the best seller list.

For recent sci-fi I suggest the works of Nathan Hystad... weaves a very complex tale over multiple volumes. Hard SF, good stories.

    The Company, all scifi

Tell me about yourself starting with the style of approach if you were with a guy named Mark Blomquist what would he call you most likely by first name alone?
Just a little IRS humor as I am the President of that Company - a recording label... I trust you will tell me more in our future contact.

Since retiring three years ago, an endeavor has been made to read and/or reread the classics. It's amazing how books written over 400 years ago can still be identified with and interesting, like Robinson Crusoe and Don Quixote.

Don Quixote has even inspired my art projects, such as comics and a 3-D sculpture, the latter of which my own comic character, Donny Keehohtai.

Don Quixote has inspired artists for years, from Picasso to Gordon Lightfoot, and I believe the Disney studios are planning an animated movie.

Some genres don't go out of style, like Sherlock Holmes written as far back as the 1890's inspiring a couple of Robert Downing Jr movies, the American TV series Elementary, and the British TV series, Sherlock.
