question for all how many looked closelly at all 4 pics in his album? sure weve seen worse but they do look like they'll drip on a very hot day edit: but i would almost always recommend trying to recover over starting over.. if in the 1st few weeks sure starting overs best..but a couple months in its best tio just try your best to get allyou can oit
Just looked at the other pictures in his album. I do think that maybe the link to the picture in his first post was probably the least waxy looking of all of them. A couple of the dreads look a little stiff to me in the other pictures. Having said that, if he had just posted that one picture without telling us that he had used wax, and asked us what we thought of them, I'm not sure I would have been able to tell for sure that he had used wax, maybe if I saw them in RL. *Shrug as long as he's happy with them.....
WRONG. "A jar of Dread Wax This is what makes it all work. It holds the hair together so it looks better while its locking up and it forms tight smooth dreads in less time. Of course we recommend our wax because it works faster, smells better and gives your hair the nutrients it needs to stay healthy and prevent breakage ( I know cuz I use it)"
lol i just remembered reading this. heres a pic: they look so much less insane tied up like that. i have a pic thread around here somewhere too.
ooooh. would you like some stuff for your hair miss scattered leafy? i bought some wooden rings, and some metal rings when i was on hols in cornwall, and none of my locks are fat enough for them, and i doubt they ever will be..
and we all know this is total lies and misinforemation wax DOES NOT MAKE IT WORK in fact it works against the processs \ it does not "look better" wax dreads look pretty bad they begin to stink they get too stiff to move and feel sticky he uses uit yes but in his vids his dreads do not mocve at all (except the 1 stuck to his face comes unstuck) and even he admits he doesnmt like touching them unless he smewars them with even more crap called dreadbutta dont believe the scams and lies just cause its on a flashy site that tries to make you believe theyrew cool so u can trust them by acting like braindead deadhead stoners wax is eviln and that is truth
Oh boys...lets not turn this into a wax vs. non wax debate. Some people like it and some dont. Leave it alone. If you try it be forewarned that it doesnt work for everybody and if you USE TOO MUCH IT WILL F UP YOUR DREADS! Duh. But...lets just leave it at that eh?! Sorry OP didnt read all of this thread...but you can try the boiling water thing and then just give it time. Your only at 3 months...your still at the beg of the crap phase! Wax or not your dreads are gonna be messy and homeless looking for awhile. Patience!!!! And scattered....wow! Your dreads are sooooooo beautiful!
from a fellow wax-head. STOP PANICING!!!!! ive had candles on my head. i joined hip forums and paniced like so many people do, and went maniac about removing it. tryed some different stuff, but couldnt get it out. then i stopped caring as much. every 3-4 moneths, or whenever i feel like it, i do another little attempt at removing some wax. ive tryed different methods (i think ive tryed just about everything except for using the really strong ingredients in the icky sticky wax thread). the thing is. if you stop caring as much, and just do some attempts every now and then, it will come out little by little. just the philosophy of it will make your jurney better. instead of going mad about that wax, think of it as a part of your jurney. its not like everyone else's, but it is what happened to you, wheter you like it or not. your road to mature dreadlocks isnt only about knotting, its also about gradually geting rid of the wax as time progress. in the end, it wont be that bad. ofc, if u get mold or anything, u have to act quickly i still have wax in my hair 2 years later, but by now the amount is so small i hardly care.. all ive done is like 1 real attempt every few months. each attempt helps a bit, until the amount of wax isnt really worth thinking about anymore. did my last attempt this morning. still some wax in, but it isnt bottering me. will try a new method in a few months. it can wait, because i love my dreadlocks anyway. i have a timeline where u can see my wax removal process from first week, to now, 2 years later. you will be allright in the end, my friend, you will! as long as you dont get mold (keep them dry). enjoy your own journey, and dont panic. dont spend hours and hours thinking about it
Im going to just go the natrual way and start from scratch.. i miss them already haha but its all good ya know i just want to do them right with out the wax. is there away to at lest make natrual dreads lock up pretty evenly?
No way to make them perfectly even, but for the most part you can just rip the sections when they get to be about the size you want, but in some places you might still get some considerably bigger than others, like down around the neck.
Yeah nothing special or uniform about how hair tangles. Just rip the apart when they get too big...easiest hair style there is.
Can I say that I used wax on my hair until I was 4 or even 6 months in.. Not sure. But five weeks after I completely stopped using wax it had completely disappeared. I agree with Amy here. Although I'd never use it again it really isn't that hard to get out I didn't even do any boiling just carried on with my normal routine. I think most people don't really have to resort to taking out dreads.
wax looks like poo on dark hair, yuck, but nothing fatal for dreads. i had a lot of it on at some point and they're fine, i think it's all out almost now. i can see some gray yucky things from time to time but i don't care too much to go crazy about it. and your dreads look better at 3 moths than most, so relax and be happy
