maybe he's onto something, the fact this is in fact the states. Everyone involved with weed, whether selling it or buying it is putting their ass on the line constantly and it's pure business unless you have a friend that happens to be a dealer

    exactly.

if its your friend then of course, what kind of friend should be jewing you out

but other dealers, it pretty much comes down to if you want to buy it or not, it's illegal but its a service they are providing and they run their business according to how they see fit, sure you may weigh it in front of them and beg for more, but to me i find that to be very bad practice.

Last time i checked, everyone weighs their shit. Most of the time just to show the customer that theyre not getting ripped of. Not because "its their job"

"a dealer has bags weighed out because he figures thats what he is selling, and thats what he is charging, if you dont like it, dont buy it, period."

Or, if you didnt know they can do this thing, and not included as much in a bag which = them saving weed and getting more money.

weighing $20? how is that like asking for a $1 hamburger, i see a $19 difference there.

yeah im sure if you were a dealer youd be beating peoples faces in all day buddy.

as above said its the black market all theyre doing is trying to make money.

    ...vansterdam....

All im saying is theres nothing wrong with checking you got the right amount. I wouldnt whip out a scale infront of the dealer though becuase thats basically saying "I DONT TRUST YOU" but if you tell him you wanna see what it weighs out to then i dont see how thats a problem.

This is kinda how I practiced. I buy a small amount the first time, no more than $60. I go home and check it. If I got short changed, I don't go back to them. I don't bitch about that batch, I just count it as a loss and praise the day that I find a good dealer.
I've roomed with two different dealers. One who only did weed and the other who did weed but also heroin and crack/cocaine. Both of them taught me how to do their business with prices and such. I know it seems like easy enough stuff, but I had only just started smoking at the time, very new. They would have me take care of things is someone came by looking to buy while they were out. Neither of them would even think of getting pissed if someone wanted to see them weigh. It was a very normal request. No matter the bag size. Only small time pricks who think they're big shit would bother getting pissed about such a request. It's completely retarted and pussy-ish.

Man no one I know ever weighs out their shit in front of you unless you're at their house. It's just logic, don't bring a scale places with you

accepting a loss, then telling the dealer "Hey the bag was a little light last time" the next time you go buy is a WAYYYYY better practice than asking upfront

as i said, that is horrible etiquette in any situation and if your going to do that fine, but over a $20 bag it just shows how utterly pathetic you are if your griping over .3 of a gram when the dealer is providing a service to you you wouldnt otherwise have.

I don't think its disrespectful to ask it to be weighed out if you are buying a specific amount. If I call my dealer and ask to buy 2 grams, I expect my bag to weigh 2 grams. But I usually don't have to worry about being skimped. In fact, I usually get hooked up. Hurray for dealer friends.

Yeah, I'm going to say that I don't personally feel it's disrespectful to ask that it be weighed. You're paying for a service they're providing, and you should be getting your money's worth. Just because it's an illegal transaction doesn't give the dealer the right to cheat someone out of their money.

That'd be like you buying an ounce, having the dealer give you the full ounce, and then you paying them in counterfeit bills. It's not right.

Dude. Pick up the ounce. Weigh it when you get home. Unless he is really shady, he shouldn't give you less than 24-25g's even if he is skimping you. If you find he skimped you over an eighth of bud, then find somebody else. If he really wants you back then he should be able to respect you saying that you felt like you didn't get your fair share. If he doesn't want you back as a customer then the situation was ended in a mature and respectful manner then.

But......I have a card so I am not affected by this anymore lol.

simple.pick up the ounce and tell the dealer your splitting it with someone and ask to borrow his scales.

that way you can check the weight without offending him.

if he says well here i have halves already cut up,just say you were cutting some odd amount out for the person you were splitting it with.

That kinda sucks man. In my experince, when you start buying from a dealer you have to bite your tounge. They'll rip you off, they'll be VERY late... one time I remember calling my dealer after he was supposed to meet me, and he said somthing along the lines of shut the fuck up. I wanted to completely cus him out, but I had to bite my tounge cus that would mean no more dealer. Whats happend with the 5 or so long term dealers I've had is after a good dozen buys they start to become more cool with you and since they know your a regular customer, they won't see a problem in giving you a good deal, in fact, they will want to so that you stay a costomer. I'm actually haveing to get a new one too, after having the same one for more than 2 years. Hes hooking me up with someone else soon, and I'm a little anxious, although he apparently lives really close to me, which is awesom.

this is definitely true. from my personal experience, the longer you know your dealer the better off you are in terms of price, quality, and all around honesty.

Wow, you are the biggest moron ever. Why don't you do us all a favor and just STFU? I would beat your ass for getting mad over weighing weed. If you got mad, then you are a shady fuck! I don't give a shit if I sell stuff to someone and they want it weighed. Its a business. Fuck etiquette. You say people here carry themselves with "disgusting class"? WOAH your a moron. You are the one that said you will pound someones face in for not wanting to get ripped off! WTF is that about? Since when is ripping someone off good etiquette? You are obviously a major peice of shit. I am glad I don't live in fucking vansterdam, where all the dumb shits live.

I don't think if you are buying stuff from someone the first time you should whip out your scale. If you do, its slightly rude. But its BUSINESS! What hippie said was absolutely awesome. That is a good tactic if you really want to know.

I hate bad dealers, they should die. These are the reasons drugs get a bad name, cuz you have people who think etiquette is more important than the actually business. Morons...

both sides on this argument are getting a bit carried away i think.
    both have a good point.

a good dealer would weigh shit out in front of people (or at least toss an ounce on the scale real quick, in the bag, should weigh ~29)
or they would just have good bags weighed in advance and not cause people to think they were getting ripped off.

but the other side of the argument...
that pulling out a scale is disrespectful,
    picture it this weigh (hehe)

the bag is on. the guy is not trying to rip you off. all his other customers are happy and trust him. and then you pull out a scale to check him. it could piss some people off.

i used to sell weed, and usually weigh it in front of them, but a scale isn't always convenient. so if they tried to use one, where i had deemed it not smart to be busting out a scale, then i might tell them to put it away. not cuz i'm ripping them off, just cuz it's dumb. the bag weighs..
    just an example

but the kid WAS talking about an ounce, not a twenty i think...

and i live in the states too and shit is different everywehre. don't claim "it's the states...so it's this certain way"
i know some people that do happen to be polite and honest when dealing with weed.

and there's a difference if the dealer says "2g for $20" or if he just has 20s weighed out. prices differ. it's not ALWAYS straight 10/g. maybe he's selling 1.7 for 20 and you have to either take it or leave it b/c it's HIS weed for now.
