I think lots of people clicked on that arse and some bean counter came to the conclusion that people like this ad . Usually more clicks mean more money.

I don't use an ad blocker on this site, I just disable java script most of the time. I don't pay for using HF, so I see the ads as a way to generate an income. And without java script they don't get too flashy and annoying.
