Now if we could just get a law to prevent doctors and parents from assigning gender and performing surgeries on babies born with ambiguous genitalia.
i'd like it if canada would at least make parents pay for the procedure instead of covering it under provincial health insurance. i don't want my taxes paying for unnecessary procedures like this.
wow are you fucking serious? those situations are extremely difficult to manage as they are, there should be no LAWS associated with this as it would only fuck it up even more. i don't understand you, poster, you often talk of how the government is bad and blah blah blah 99% but then you come with this garbage asking for the GOVERNMENT to INTERVENE into some of the most private situations that ought to be protected to the utmost...get your gig together before you start downvoting more.
it has been changed...for quite a while now i know for a fact that my nephews were saved because their parents were strapped for cash at the time
Yes And to have the government stepping in saying don't do this, do this, whatever would add even more complication. You are dumb. The End.
No, I'm not dumb. I have a direct relationship to someone who had gender assigned through surgery in the early '60's. Fear and ignorance on the part of doctors and parents have done irreparable damage to this person. It is my belief that a child's genitalia should not be surgically altered - that a person should be able to make decision's regarding their sexual orientation when they come of age and understanding, and that no one should be able to make that decision for them. That's my opinion based on experience.
and you think that by adding in the government into the equation, somehow this situation will be made easier? what you are talking about is extremely difficult to do. it may be even more damaging to the person if they were left 'ambiguous' throughout the ~13 years to pubescent stage. my opinion is that your opinion is extremely flawed and your idea to get the government to join in is very contradicting to some of your previous posts. ignorant, dumb, same thing.
I have opinions of your opinions too, but I don't need to state them here to make my point because the topic is not "What I Think Of PurpleByThePound's Outlook On Life And Decision Making Process". Stay on topic please.
it's PURPbythepound, but fair enough, old goose. even though i HAVE maintained points relevant to discussion...while you maintain my opinion of ignoramus
why turn this personal? this had the potential to be a good discussion about a divisive issue, but instead you just turn to name calling and start acting like a jerk.
I'm still on topic...not posting in here solely off-topic. posts still contain relevance, but dumb people get feathers ruffled easily...thankfully i don't live in the UK and won't get the gubberment on my case for hurting their feelings!!
Good for germany, It should be up to the kid whether he wants it cut or not. In todays time a lot of women wouldn't go for uncut men. It's a social norm to be cut, maybe it will go away but being a non-cut dude would have serious implications in your social life. (remember my age, i know what i am talking about) Circumcision is not all that safe, sometimes the procedure doesn't come out as expected and sometimes it leaves marks under the head.
It does, however, whack off a part of the child's penis in the name of that religion. There's a difference between being told a malevelent fairy tale, and being told a malevelent fairt tale that involves your loved ones solicting someone to cut part of your penis off as an offering to their spiteful god. Maybe it doesn't infringe on the child's choice of religion, and is just out-and-out genitial mutilation at the hands of cultists, and clear child abuse.
circumcision preventing disease is a myth, which has long since been refuted buy overseas studies & common sense. It failure to keep proper hygiene that leads to the diseases. If the foreskin led to disease natural evolution would have sen it vecome extinct hundreds of years ago. No the foreskin is actually there to protect it. Removing it therefore logically leads to increased chance of harm. I have left my boys alone.
Well call it that then. My qualms with the legal system revolve 99% of the time around how they use their reasoning to find what they think is right, making laws meaningless and the courts a joke. You can use any argument to reach any conclusion, including my one i'm using now.
