Ladies and gentlemen: George Carlin-- Boy do we need him now!! I suggest going to you-tube and watching his routines. Politics would be so,so much better were he still here. What he says is totally relevant to the mess we have now. Do yourselves a real favor and check him out--

He did a great show about the Iraq war in Des Moines at the time. There was nothing funny about it. George was very serious...and very right.

Oh, the stand up routines he'd be doing about Trump now. But maybe it's for the best that he didn't live to see it, his head might have exploded.

I think im suspicious of all stand ups now though.

The stage show is rehearsed and funny, but seems to take a certain personality type to do it.

George Carlin in real life was probably a miserable **** who would have been impossible to live with

He would be very sad to see current politics. Reminds me of this.

Boooring. That's the state of affairs in comedy these day. Just boring. Nothing to talk about so they just make fun of politics. The stand ups, the daily shows go on and on and on. I'd be refreshed and amused if somebody would just start cracking fart noises these days. I'd go to that show.

And in typical fashion with political comedians, y'all would rather just sit and laugh at current state of affairs than actually get of your arse and make a difference or a change. It is YOU, those type of people who are truly laughable.

Comedy sucks today because you can't make fun of anybody. The world seems to be run by people who are easily offended and once they determine something to be offensive, away it goes. Drew Carey's improv show would probably draw protests and antifa riots if they used material from previous shows. When did we let the whiners and babies take over?

I heard a good joke yesterday. The world "NEEDS" a comedian.

Irm--I figured a smart ass like you ( and that's a compliment) would like Carlin.

How can it be over played when Trump gives us so much to play with?

No way, I don't even read the news I'm never going to get into political comedy. It's not relateable to my life at all. I don't politics. I don't read I don't watch I don't have anything to do with it. All these comedians who scour the internet for random videos and social feeds for a 2 second gag of a mispronounced word? Just not my thing. I kinda find it sad like I said in my original post. It's just easier to sit and laugh at the world rather than do anything about it. I'm sure political comedy has been ripe since even earlier civilisations, but at least I'd get a bit of enjoyment seeing a head cut off when they were caught. :p
