Was George one of the last guys to legit speak the truth without much of the disinfo that others tend to mix in? This guy is smart and rarely includes some BS. I think maybe towards the end of his life he sometimes said some odd things, but this is his famous video exposing the 'govt, etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wigDHjEwPuE
He had his moments, but I feel like both him and hicks are put on massive pedestals like they're gods. they're good, but they aren't uniquely good. Most of the religion stuff was done back when people actually gave a shit and a lot of the race stuff wasn't great. Take the swearing out of most of the Hicks/Carlin religion stuff, and its just a Dave Allen routine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxo81Ok9Urk Which isn't to say that they aren't good, just that their goodness exists in a context of other awesome people who deserve more recognition.
people who speak truth are often taken out of context to speak untruth or half truth too. ideology is also prejudice, not just religion and race, i'm not sure what the op is getting at, but it was the fords who betrayed far more then the rothchilds. and the fate of humanity is the accumulated environmental result of centuries of resource mismanagement nothing really earthshaking about entertainment being seldom about truth, as this is seldom what anyone looking to be entertained is looking for, a truism frequently demonstrated by this very forum. also carlin wasn't talking about "religion", rather in the sloppy way typical of people who's own religious background is limited to a single belief, making the unfounded assumption that "religion" equaled THEIR religious background, he was speaking rather obviously about christianity, in a way that could be streatched to include islam and possibly judaism, but very little else. speaking simply and speaking truth seldom equate in a language who's evolution has been largely driven by deception.
Currently, I think Bill Burr is really good in terms of the no bs. I wouldn't say he's quite on the same intellectual level as Carlin was but I think he realizes that and compromises with relatable self-deprication. He does stimulate alot of thought about American society and culture though. This is from just a couple years ago eventhough its in B & W. http://youtu.be/Uc3HiKQDPCQ
