My g/f and I own a bar....therefore I get to see a lot of different people. My gaydar I would say is just about 90% accurate!! although If you don't know me you probably don't know im gay but my customers do and often feel it pertinent to tell every new person! anyone get that? lol Anyhow I have always been a very observant individual and that's what I contribute my great gaydar to (and maybe a degree in psych...who knows) but a couple tips we are all sexual beings, go figure, so whether we are with someone or not we tend to check out people we find attractive! (watch who they look at) the social group they hang out with, older women tend to be more reserved, then again you would be surprised. Straight women dance with other women no matter what but watch the distance. Lesbians dance if they are very comfortable in their environment! and they dance close. I think its easier for a bartender cuz they must have contact with everyone! the way they give me money, eye contact, overly friendliness. You can watch for, who is paying (a guy their with). other than that if you fancy someone you can flirt without putting yourself out there. Making eye contact with them is harmless, strike up general conversation, maybe you know someone that knows them or one of my favorites get an outspoken friend (usually me) to ask them!! no harm no foul as long as you trust that friend not to say "hey my friend wants to know!!"
I'm terrible at telling who's gay. Even if they're into me I can never tell til it hits me like a million years later. The only thing I do to try to tell if they might be gay is look at their nails. It doesn't always work tho because if they do some type of job where they can't have long nails obviously they're not going to. Its kinda awful sometimes too because even if you try to subtly make a pass you can tell when a straight girl gets uncomfortable.
Teach me too. I have an amazing GAYdar but no LEZdar lol... I went to Ren Faire and there was a juggler there...so cute, piercings and tattoos... anywho, lol I was almost positive she was a lesbian... but then she mentioned her boyfriend. :sad face:
