Plans for Sunday's 'All Black Lives Matter' March Show a Rift in the LGBTQ Communities ... The BLM movement is in motion and is happening at the time when gay pride usually appears in Los Angeles. This year, the Christopher Street West leaders thought that it would be appropriate to join forces. Supposedly, the leaders didn't address their thoughts or concerns with BLM folks. One of the major issues is that the PRIDE people usually like and want police presence and protection where as the BLM protesters have a separate mindframe. To paraphrase the Wicked Witch in THE WIZ, "It puts the UGH in UGLY!"
A Rift in the LGT and BQ communities you say No shit (I refuse to put B in with LGT, and I still think no one knows what Q actually means)
Both issues are important to address, and maybe there's even some overlap with the two, but each deserves to be addressed individually. The timing of the current BLM awareness during something else already established yearly is not the best.
