Though you are right- a lot of people joined, anyway. My dad's Uncle Bill was in the army, and he was gay. I imagine it was a pretty uncomfortable situation for him, having to keep his sexuality secret, but it wasn't exactly a new thing for him. He was a gay person from a fairly religious Catholic (?) family in the late 60s. When he came out, only about half the family stood by him. My grandma, the most religious of them all, was one of them. Which is why I have such respect of her, even though she can be a pain in the ass.

There are a lot of people out there trying to stop the gay rights movement, but at the same time, the great thing about people is that there are also lots of straight people who support gay rights in the world. Without them, I doubt gays would have any rights at all.

The World Health Organization removed homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses in 1981. Homosexuality is not an illness. Period the end. Unfortunately, there's a lot of misinformation out there and the facts have to be repeated again and again.

Poem~Girl, If you, in fact, had read your Psychology book you would know the facts. That is if you do have a Psychology Book, which I doubt you have one or have ever read one. Because if you had, you wouldn't have written this: "psychology book which is fact it says it says its an area of the brain that governs sexual behavioural matters"

Because you would know the name of that "area of the brain", (the hypothalamus) and you would have know the proper term for what it governs, not behavioral matters but regulating the secretion of hormones. (It is going to be on the test.) You would also know that The inconclusive evidence to date seems to show that Homosexuality may indeed have a physical attribute which is as different to Heterosexuality as Blue Eyes are to Brown. Different. Not wrong. And defiantly not sick. Just different.

 

I don't see how you can use god to back up psychology... that's quite oxymoronic if I do say so myself.

haven't read all the replies, so sorry if someone said this already, but they proved that homosexuality was NOT a mental disorder in the eighties. but i guess you know better, you must be an expert on the subject, right?

btw, what is such an intolerant asshole doing on "hip forums?" i thought at least here people could grow beyond that.
