Is that still the rule? That's crazy, really. I stopped donating blood a long time ago. I was a regular contributor, too.
I lie when I donate blood. I don't sleep around so I'm clean. Never had a problem. I was getting bombarded with phone calls multiple times a day asking if I want to schedule to donate more blood. I wasn't so nice when I told the blood center it's considered stalking and harassment with the none stop phone calls. So the phone calls stopped.
