Well. I'm trying always to be a better writer. To express clearly. This shows that I have a ways to go.
I totally agree with the OP. That's one of the reasons I like calling myself a queer poet. It changes a negative word into a positive one. Plus I love the double meaning. Many poets are rather queer. :sunny: QP
Ahem, I was reffering to the term "fag hag" in that post, not "gay". Though the origins of the word "gay" being used as a term for anything bad or wrong was homophobic. Jeez, I know gay originally meant "cheerful, happy, etc..." I think most people are aware of that! lol @Worldsofdarkblue: Lol @ "This thread is so same sex attraction".
Uhh yeah, that's how every gay dude I've ever known that wasn't a fag would say it. Yes there are gay dudes and there are fags.
What does that even mean? Are you referring to the level of masculinity? That irks me as much as people saying there are black people and there are niggers... It just sounds ignorant.
The one way in which I think "gay" being used to describe anything negative is similar to black people using the word "nigga" to describe themselves, is I think what the gay guys who use the word "gay" as a derogatory term are doing claiming the word back from bigots. However, as I said it is different, in that a white person would usually be deemed a racist for using the term "******", whereas a straight person using the word "gay" to describe anything bad is seen generally as perfectly acceptable.
Fags are basically the gay dudes that will sit there and take being called a faggot and not beat the shit out of the dude saying it and then whine about it on an internet forum. And dude, have you ever been to the ghetto? Seriously, when you get robbed and fucked with on a daily basis you begin to tell the difference between black people and their undereducated ignorant counterparts. ****** just means an ignorant ass dude to me, whether they be black or white or whatever.
I'm assuming that this is some sort of personal attack. I've fought back all my life. I remember a time in 8th grade where I was being bullied by a kid in English class. He sat behind me saying things like 'why don't you just come out of the closet?' calling me fag and whatever in front of everyone. I stood up and beat the shit out of him with my English book. The teacher actually let it go on for awhile and she later told me that she did it because she thought he deserved it. After we were sent to the office we made up and even became friends in time. Not a few months later her was sucking my dick. However that was 8th grade... a long time ago. I can't go around beating people's asses can I... Guess I could but I'm not a child anymore... Though this thread was a way for me to vent for what I have been seeing going on here, I also wanted to use it as a medium to hopefully open people's eyes that using these words in everyday sentences can be painful for some. If you haven't noticed lately, homosexuals are fighting for rights... because as homosexuals we basically don't have any. When people use the word 'gay' everyday saying 'that's so gay', 'quit being a fag', etc. it's just another slap in the face... and proof we have a LONG WAY to go. Obviously being a 'gay' or a 'fag' is linked with negative connotations. Would you really like us all to go around beating everyone up who uses the word that way? I get it, you are saying that if we don't and I come here to vent and raise awareness that makes me a fag.
Are you fucking serious? The only reason you think you don't have rights is because you've been downed so much in your life that you have an inferiority complex and want to be a victim instead of just saying fuck what other people say and living your life. Someone calling something gay when they mean it's stupid is NOT affecting your life in any way believe it or not and I think you should get over it.
