Our local Episcopal Church is very open, welcoming, and affirming. WAY beyond being simply "tolerant". On the other hand, a Christian friend describes many local church services as hostile.
Some denominations are supportive and affirming, and others ... aren't. Even within denominations, there can be considerable variation from one congregation to another. It is wise to investigate the specific group cautiously before joining them.
IMHO the bible is all about begetting , you must begat the next generation , when a man lays with a man or a woman with a woman, they can’t begat, there is the religious side of it, what about love, loyalty, kindness, is there a religion that exists that tells you love is wrong ?
