Asking for general information here to put a question I’ve always had out to pasture. Do “bottoms” typically like giving and receiving anal or are they only expected to receive? The terminology has always had me guessing what the expected role is.
In case this is whats the question was, bottom just refers to the reciever. I always assumed bottoms would be fine with giving as well as receiving. Just based on my own ignorance to the subject, and did then wonder why the term versatile was used. I made the assumption bottoms would be fine giving on a forum for a local sauna and was soon corrected that many bottoms only like to receive and not give. I couldn't wrap my head around a man not wanting to give it aswell, but everyone's different I guess.
My experiences with bottoms - and, by the way, not all of them are gay - says they'd rather receive anal sex than give it and that's if they're into anal at all and one would do well to never assume that all bottoms like it in the ass.
