I dont care that he dont know where Homs, Damascus, Palmyra, Alleppo are..

As long as he know where Chicago, Baton Rouge, Atlanta and Newark, are that's all that matters to me.

He also don't have the Hillary ear buds with the aids telling him what to say.

Oddly enough I've came across people who like him because of, not in spite of, some of the above. The libertarian philosophy is pretty far removed from mainstream politics so the fact that he's actually a centrist in libertarian clothing is probably pretty appealing to centrist Republicans turned off by Trump.

I myself like that he supports some environmental regulations (not specifically talking about carbon tax here, just in general) and doesn't think corporations should be able to do whatever the fuck they want in regards to the enviroment. How anyone can support that aspect of the libertarian philosophy is beyond me.

But of course the TPP gives corporations the power to supercede environmental law anyways, soo at the end of the day he appears to be another hypocritical politician.

And he might wanna brush up on Middle Eastern geography, but Trump would have been a deer in headlights with that one too.

Above all, look how late he is to the party. Have Americans ever elected a last-minute entry? The republicans are trying the same crap to a cool reception. Sure, there are plenty of republicans who won't support Trump, but that sure doesn't mean they're going to throw in with some Johnny-come-lately who says "Vote for me, I'm a republican, but I'm not Trump" as the cornerstone of their platform. Nevermind skating out of the debates.

It has been a joy to watch all those establishment republicans get so easily plowed under with their own bullshit. I knew when they pulled out that "loyalty oath" crap at the first debate that they were worried about Trump. At every turn they exposed this flank, as if once again throwing an election. The democrats kept it classy by propping up two old white people, the most hated demographic in America these days. Then we find out that Bernie was just a prop the whole time, comic relief. Only, Bernie told some not too pleasant truths on the trail.

He's probably as lucky as Monica to be alive. There was a time when Johnson was a lot more libertarian sounding. What he's casting forth these days sounds like he's trying to "compromise" with the democrats. Good luck with that one Gary.

The only safe place to be in US politics these days is disengaged from any party. And God help anyone who fancies themself a patriot.

That's an incredibly low bar. I personally wouldn't settle for a political candidate who had less knowledge of foreign policy and incredibly pertinent geography than I at 15.

Incidentally, I was a libertarian at 15.They do make a few persuasive arguments. But it's at it's heart a false dichotomy.

Good point...Chicago and Atlanta are almost as dangerous as any place on Earth if you're the wrong person in the wrong neighborhood. I'm not sure about Baton Rouge or Newark though. [IMG]
