The discovery of new turbulence transition in fusion plasmas (msn.com) This is exactly the news I was hoping to hear. Already, fusion reactors are returning ten times or more of the power put into them, but this discovery makes it much easier to design one, right now, that will produce commercial power. They have discovered what I would call the Two Faces of Janus, that plasmas must reflect the thermodynamics of their particles, which has a clear transition point, or turning point. From my point of view, the plasma must display as much turbulence as it does order. Some might say heated particles wanting to scatter in every direction are purely random, but the fact they go in every direction is what they all have in common. In these experiments they've shown how turbulence has its own equilibrium.
