Does anyone else watch old short public service announcement movies shown in classrooms back from the 50s and 60s? I do and hope you enjoy these two. I have more if anyone is interested in more let me know or if you have ones to share Oh how times have changed. Body care and grooming 1948 Apparent ill groomed girls are the cause of young men behaving badly. Lol And narcotics pit of despair. 1967 In this film you will see trying weed once leads heroin So come on and get your KICKS and see wolverine... the dealer who gives you KICKS
It's been a while since I watched them but the drug ones were by far the funniest. One LSD one about a little man inside a woman (I had a similar situation once on lsd)
Yeah I have seen a few drug ones... it is funny because thevpersipon who made the film and writers clearly had no idea what is was like to do any drugs. Lol. Have you checked out archive? Download & Streaming : Moving Image Archive : Internet Archive Lots of stuff can be looked up there.
In this 1965 film entitled perversion for profit 1960 You will learn that porn will destroy all life as you know it. I guess because you will spill your seed on the ground? Perversion For Profit : Unknown : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

Films like that were promoted and then people later wondered how bullying could have become such a problem.
Wow, this was very interesting. I liked it. You should was your hair once every two weeks, they said. And add vinegar to the second rinse, I do that yay.
Lol. That was funny. <3 it. I wish I could give more checks. You. Know what I found interested, not long ago da bomb was a popular saying used. I never knew it came from dragnet. Always thought it originated somewhere else Yeah, boggles the mind... but look how far we have come too. Thankfully. My grandmother was extremely progressive. 1916 she got a job as a bell operator, supported herself, married and worked for bell til she was 85 because she loved being out and working. Not many women back then worked and had children, Yeah great clip, loved that movie. Lol. I guess the writers were weened on these information videos. Yeah.. these really are great and a good laugh now. We have come so far. My dad was born late in my grandmothers life sonthere was a huge generation gap between him and his brothers and parents. His brothers could have been his parents, nieces and nephews older than him. My grandmother always had grey hair. Anyways, she saw everything come to be, electricity,, cars, radio, tv, 2 world wars depression etc... in the winter she only washed her hair once a month because she didn't want to get sick.
Here is another one. Habit patterns 1954 Poor Barbara is nagged continually by her god mother, compared to the OCD neighbour when she is late, criticized for being an awkward teenager and Great psa teaching girls to be critical of everything and be snarky bitches. Lol. This treatment Probably caused OCD in many too. Thankfully times have changed and this is funny. https://archive.org/details/HabitPat1954
i WAS in those classrooms in the 50s and (high school) in the 60s. (and i know several others of us on here were too)
Ohhh are there any that have stuck out in your mind..? . Did you relate to any of i, any if the shorts you saw in the classroom? I am sure there were some. Some of them clearly used scare tactics to discourage behaviour. The impact was probably a lot more powerful then as well, movies, tv had a huge influence...
well the drug ones were kinda funny because, well most of us had never heard of most of that stuff, but the kids down by the river had their own still, and pretty much everyone knew about and was in on it. i remember "duck and cover". and there were even how to's about building fallout shelters, and a lot of people dug holes in their back yards. most didn't get any further then that, but it was a popular topic at the time. there was sex ed, i think it was part of social studies, that yah, if you had sex you'd get siphilous or something. (my spell check doesn't know how to spell that either)
I went to a really old grade school in this city and it had an old huge air raid siren in the school yard. That was clearly for the whole area. In grade 7 sex Ed, I don't think the films had changed because we saw this old black and white where they stuck thing down the guys penis shafft and all this puss came out. He had gone or syph. Never had either and don't know how to spell it either. Lol. This was to deter us and uit scared the shit out if me. I remember thinking, no I don't want anything jammed hard and fast into my pee hole. Lol
