I have done your little idea before. Let me tell you it was funny but not in the way you think yours is funny. My first time on a snowboard my friends took me up on this little run bit bigger than a bunny hill, anyway i get off the lift crashing of course. I then proceed to start my run. I think I'm doing good im standing up, picking up speed and my friend is beside me telling me how to turn and stop. Well i was looking at him and not ahead of me, i ram into this little 4 year old girl on skis, but here is the kicker the little girl kept goin down the mountain right as rain and i ate shit hardcore and dislocated my shoulder. I thought it was funny as hell after i found out the girl was fine.
Alright man now you kinda have it but you still dont have to ram into someone. It would be funny enough just to see peoples faces when they see just some random naked man snowboarding.
Now this scenario of the "joke" is hilarious man. unfortunate about the shoulder but at least ya got a good laugh out of it!
Hahah yeah thats what i wouldn't do (to a female or a kid younger than you) thatd be fucked up to do on purpose. Yeah i have had people run into me a few times at 3-5 mph. I have also had to barely dodge people going fast because the skier was going back and forth but as i went by they changed their pattern and I ate shit barely missing the lady. I wouldn't have minded that as much because it was her fault lol.
Dude, I am just going to say a couple of things here and then I am going to stop. First of all, I get that you wanted to throw this up here and have a funny conversation about how funny it would be to ram in to some unsuspecting person on the slopes. As I mentioned in another thread. I am sure when I was your age I might have thought this was funny as well, but on the otherhand I also have some first hand experience with that kind of pain. I did a bunch of dumb things I though were a funny idea at the time. Needless to say I am not going list all of my injuries here but I have broken a lot of bones in my day. I am not busting on you about it other than I don't think it's a good idea. Now, I just want to make another point. The average snowboarder goes about 24 miles an hour. I am sure you might be able to get it up maybe as high as 35 miles per hour but that would be just crazy. Not to mention you would have to tuck in pretty good and have a very open slope to get there. Keep this thought in mind. When you hit an object that is standing still at oh, let's say 30mph, that is enough impact to not only cause damage but to kill. Think about it, most auto deaths occurr between 30 and 35 miles per hour. This is due to impact, and they have a car around them. You just running into someone at that speed would rank up there with one of the worst ideas ever. Sorry dude. Have a great day and don't take it personally. Thanks.
I said I was going to stop but I read on and you look like you might really do this. Don't do it dude. You are going to get someone to take of video of your death or it will be used at your trial. If this is something that you planed enough in advance that you have someone record it then it is not only assault but now it premeditated assault or murder, if you should kill that person. Not to mention that this forum could now be used against you in court as well. If they ever attached this conversation with you. You will not only spend the rest of your life in jail you will learn to love another man in the wrong way. Just remember there are a lot of people in jail because they thought something would be funny.
Ok thanks for the input, I don't think i will try this but i definately won't forget about it. Mabey you're right, 35 mph could be dangerous. I don't think you know how fast i can board though. I used to have a mountain bike with a speedometer on it before i was driving because i love speed. So I do think I am a good judge on telling how fast i am going. I have pushed my limit the first day of boarding this year, it was the fastest i have gone on a board, and it scared the shit out of me. I went so fast i swear I could hear in my head and through my ears what sounded like a sonic boom from the pure speed. I know that was at least 55-60 mph. The fastest snowboarder has gone 125 mph.
What's wrong with skiers? I could care less if a guy or a girl is paddling a kayak down the mountain, it's all about getting out there and enjoying the snow as people, not skiers or boarders or sledders etc...
