I have not seen the show, but I fully understand the sentiment. Opera is so often wrongly thought of as elitist whereas their is an opera for almost every classical taste. From the mythological works of Wagner, to the romantic era to Verdi and Puccini, to the bravado of Carmen and to the carrying over of Strauss waltz's in Die Fledermaus. The excerpt that I posted was from Eugene Onegin. Few classical music lovers even realize that Tchaikovsky wrote an opera. In fact he wrote 11, few of which are popular today. For those who are still uncertain, I often use Gilbert and Sullivan to show them that opera can even work in Australia.
People are falling for your avatar I'm guessing. It's happened to me, but I'm actually a guy with a picture of a girl in his avatar. Anyway... Opera is cool. Isn't there a browser called Opera as well? There used to be. Anyway...
Once the Kings were out, I was pulling for your hockey team to with the Cup this year. I was bummed when they lost last year.
But did you realize that everyone was listening to Wagnerian opera. I wonder how many people who watched the film rushed home and listened to the remaining 11 hours.
To stay on topic(s) - there's a jazz opera (The Cradle Will Rock) at the opera center in Nashville in May, 2019. That might be interesting, I'd go. And one can even get married at The Noah Liff Opera Center in Nashville! Nice.
