I also eschew animal products (although I am just vegetarian, not vegan), and have never looked back .

I was a vegan for several months recently but then slipped a bit. I'm going vegan for the next two weeks before I go to France. I have to eat meat and dairy there because of the people I will be with. Too much hassle not to. When I get back I will recommit to veganism and stick to it. Mostly for health reasons and also because I don't think my life is worth the death of so many animals. I won't be someone who rams it down other people's throats or try to be a hard line proselytizer. I just think it makes sense in general if less people eat large amounts of meat.

 

I'm not vegan, but I eat some of the same foods as vegans probably do. Like, for instance I don't drink milk. I get almond milk instead. It's pretty good!

 

Most people into this lifestyle are female it seems. I am one of the few males who don't like to make animals sad by killing and eating them. If people saw what an industrial farm is they might reconsider but many would not care. They will say "it's just a cow". You can't reason with that you either care or you don't.

If you try to preach many meat eaters will just make a point to eat meat around you. It's a very personal thing and they will show you they "won" the argument by doing it.

 

I won't ever stop eatin' meat. I figure as long as you thank the animal for it's sacrifice & kill it quick & clean that's good enough. The animal's life is sacred and that is due in no small to it's place in life's wheel. In fact we're killin' a goat for eatin' here on the farm this Saturday.

 

Asphalt contains animal products, to be truly vegan you can never walk on any asphalt

 

VG just likes to slowly crush all people's hopes. You'll get used to him if you stick around.

 

I was just kidding. I'm generally just kidding. VG is a nice guy. But he's a realist.

So do fruits and vegetables in the supermarket. One of the preservatives they spray on produce contains finely ground up crab shells.

 

When I ate meat it was for this reason. A very Native American view of it. I can respect the sacrifice and as long as I do that it's OK. But the animals you eat are not running in the wild waiting to be hunted like the natives had they are trapped on a farm with little room to move or light in some cases. It just bothers me too much.

And I'll make my case, frankly. You're free to take or not take what I say.

 

yeah, i really don't like the taste of meat, but it just makes me feel like a bigger man when i can make a cow cry.
