Excuse me, did you even look at the map? Maybe your county is one of the redder ones, but SC is a pretty damn purple state! I'm from an itty bitty town in Spartanburg, and believe me I know SC has a lot of bigots and assholes, but we're not a state FULL of these people, and we're not a completely red state. I know just as many liberal people as I do conservative. I'm sorry you live in one of the ass backwards counties, but most of SC is actually growing up. I do not agree with Ellis's post. Generalizing the south and ideas like in this post just make the divide wider, and it makes those "The South will rise again!" fools feel stronger about their "cause". Believe me, when I saw how purple SC was, I was surprised, but pleasantly surprised! It gives me hope, it should give you hope too...
