Sounds like some people are calling Ritalin an amphetamine. I used to think that until very recently. It's actually Methylphenidate. Some people say it's the closest thing to pharm-coke. I haven't had more than 20-40 mg's. At that level it seems pretty similar to amphetamines.

only, amphetamines don't leave you feeling like you've lost too much in terms of mental functioning in the following week. ritalin fucks you with psychotic episodes for weeks on end if you treat it like you'd treat amphetamines.

naw you're thinking of adderall, which is a mixture of 4 amphetamine salts.

ritalin is also used to treat ADD, but it's actually methylphenidate... also a stimulant, i believe in between caffeine and amphetamine in terms of strength.

does anyone else not get a bad amphetamine comedown? i can blow 40mg of adderall, feel GREAT for like 5-7 hours and then go home and i almost feel like i took .5mg of clonzepam or something, just lie in bed watching a movie until i fall asleep. after psychedelics, amphetamine is definitely my top favorite. opiates are great too, but speed gives me more euphoria for a longer period of time, and i never get irritable.

 

Keep on LOL'ing, mate.. I guarantee you'll be at the opposite end of the scale years down the line if you carry on like that! Your body will be in persuit of something but your mind won't know what the fuck it wants!

I get comedowns from all stimulants. Shit I get a comedown from fucking caffeine. That is why I prefer opiates...I'm already down. A lot of people get "hangovers" from opiates, but I never had this problem.

Comedowns from coke, meth, amphet, etc....they all make me depressed, and I just want to basically die. I can't stand it. I can't sleep or eat...I can't even function right. It's horrible. The high is not worth going through the hell that is a comedown.

Has anyone heard of the new Methylphenidate Transdermal patches??? Crazy stuff. You can't get your kid to swallow a pill so you think they will have no problem running around all day with a patch stuck to their skin, and they aren't going to want to play with it and take it off?

I see a problem arising from those...12 year old kids figuring out that they can take it off, and they will be trying to stick it on their friends and shit, haha.

no... ritalin is not the same thing as adderall.

Ritalin is methylphenidate and adderall is a combination of amphetamine salts.
Similar drugs, in that they both are psychostimulants and perscribed for ADD/ADHD, and can give similar effects, but are different substances.

I find adderall to speed up my whole body and give me the motivation to do things such as "clean the room" or "rearrange the furniture" or activities that require moving around.

I find ritalin to speed up my brain and thinking, and give me the motivation to solve puzzles, do homework, work on the computer, and activities that require thinking but no movement.
