I live in London & people are totally indifferent to each other but only in New York have I seen a man lying in the street apparently dead & no one taking any notice.(Cept me:I went & told a cop).
The British are currently obsessed with money.
You can agree or vehemently disagree with this,but the money obsession that was started by Margaret Thatcher & exacerbated by Tony Bliar,has turned people into debt-ridden,consumer drugged monsters who can no longer respect anyone except the media-created celebs & millionaires.

 

country types tend to be more friendly and immediately open. long-term acceptance of people is more iffy. but when your sense of personal space and personal identity is being crowded out by sheer numbers in population, it's harder to remember that human beings you pass on the streetare people, too. i come from the megalopolis that is southern california. you HAVE TO ignore other people to maintain a sense of being an individual. you'll lose your damned mind if you haveo wave at at every motherfucker on the street, on the road, on the train. it's a mental boundary. one shouldn't judge another on how they deal with sheer numbers unless they're deliberately being disrespectful and mean. sometimes people simply must ignore one another in order to stay sane. look at how the japanese in tokyo manage to live in unbearably close quarters, it's ingenious. you simply pretend others don't exist sometimes. the sad fallout is much more rare than it would be if everyone was expected to acknowledge everyone else. there's a few people who fall between the cracks every now and then. that's way better than the carnage that would exist otherwise.

I like what George Galloway said on a BBC interview a few years ago before he became a bit of a public joke. It was along the lines that he hated people in a general sense but didn't mean the individual. I too hate people, the crowd, mob or even strangers to a point. I've also found as I'm getting older I dislike people more and more for the selfish and at times hateful enjoyment they show from someone's misfortune or misery.

The Brits are a bunch of fuckin' wankers, especially abroad. It make me laugh as I've seen arseholes in the pursuit of helping others in 'hardship' carry and fetch large boulders and rocks to build walls all for charity. One thing's for sure they have never done a real days graft in this country. I bet they have never hod carried on a building site? If they had one things for sure they wouldn't be fuckin' around a playing 'work' in the Nepalese Himalayas, wankers; and if you have done this more fool you!!!!!
