it doesnt matter about the date, it was something that might have happened earlier this year but never reported in the USA, because the US media dont give a dam unless it is a story about America, because they think they are the only country that matters.

here in australia the media is so brainwashed by America that we cant turn turn our tv on without having to put up with all the bullshit coming in from America about their election, and it amazes me that everyone seems to bitch about the election in Amwerica, but Americans are not forced to vote.

the ones i see who complain most about the state of affairs in America are those who say they wont vote because it doesnt matter, and in my opinion, you stick with Obama and continue on the downhill slide, or vote for a multi billionaire who doesnt give a shit about anyone except himself.

I am more interested in learning about the elections than the actual elections.
I like to watch some of the "main" debates, but I think the most interesting one was the third party debate.
Fuck the people that promote a candidate on facebook though, that shit bothers the hell outta me.

america is not ruled by the presidency. this is why you will find many far more interesting and pertinent questions on the ballot. many of the same things will happen, whichever of the major candidates get ellected to the highest office. their dust and largely pointless noise is the lamest of all possible reasons to abstain from voting on other and more directly pertinant issues.

congress makes the laws, and many of the most important issues get decided at the most local level. as well they should. the corporate economic strong arm knows this. that is why there is something called a.l.e.c., which ghost sponsers legislation at the state level in many states simultaniously. it is these issues, which often amount to blank checks for corporate economic interests, that are of vital concern to the real well being and happiness of real people, places and things, and why i totally disagree, that the smoke and mirrors of the presidential campaign, are any reason to abstain from voting, at all.

It's not over until the fat lady sings but it looks good for Obama :2thumbsup:

WASHINGTON -- As millions of voters head to their polling places across the U.S., the final round of pre-election polls finds a close race nationwide, but collectively forecasts a narrow victory by President Barack Obama over Republican nominee Mitt Romney in enough battleground states to put Obama over the 270 electoral votes needed for victory.

The HuffPost Pollster tracking model created by Stanford political scientist Simon Jackman, which combines all available national and statewide polling data, finds that if polls fall within the historical ranges of polling accuracy, Obama stands a 91 percent chance of victory.

The remaining questions about the polling data are whether the final averages prove to be as collectively accurate as in past elections or whether some systematic error in the swing state surveys is concealing a hidden Romney advantage that will reveal itself when the votes are counted.

My guess was that it might be rigged in favour of Romney but I don't pay much attention to it.
I think if he came in and they decided to invade Iran or whatever, things would turn pretty shit for America.

I'm more interested in all the sleaze ready to be "unearthed"(which was widely known by me and others ages ago) over in Britain.

I think the last huge shock in America was when Dukakis was expected to win but lost at the last minute?

But as said above, alot is just a form of puppetry.

Of course I care who wins.... It will affect me..... I am directly affected by things that obama is somewhat responsible for, that bush was somewhat responsible for, and hopefully will not be affected by things that mitt will hopefully not be somewhat responsible for.

That said, you seem to care a lot..... I can't vote because of my legal status, so I have my bumper-sticker.... I don't see any sign of the election, if you don't like it, stop watching it.....

Besides, knowing florida, it could be weeks until it's over, you know.....

Yeah, I voted and I am proud of it because I do believe it matters.

It especially matters on things like the environment which is something I deeply care about. For instance, when Republicans are president they generally make sure that no new animals or plants go on the endangered species list, and when Democrats are the president then they are much more likely to try and protect things like that.

Basically I do believe that Democrats at least pretend to care more about the environment and women's rights and poor people.

My only memory of GWB environmental record is: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2009/jan/06/ocean-conservation-george-bush-pacific

I have no idea how many species either put on the endangered species list.

It's your inner self talking to you. "Death to All Electricians!" "They Will Electrocute You!"

And it does. I must say, however, the level of insult I feel from Romney, after I, being disabled and on limited income, managed to travel 1,760+ miles over a 5 day period so I could canvas neighborhoods, only to see him wimp out last night. Shit, dude! As of noon a fair number of the votes STILL hadn't been counted! Like WTF man? CNN declared Obama the president by 7 pm MST. And by 9 pm California, which had counted only 21% of the votes made, was declared an "Obama win". Wait a fucking minute here! Other states that had 100% of their votes counted (IIRC Wyoming was one of them) and Romney had 65% of the votes, yet Wyoming was declared an Obama win. WTF?!?!?!

Then we have these electorial votes. Popular vote doesn't count. Electorial does. Wait a minute Jack, WTF is this shit? If the popular vote doesn't count then what the hell are we wasting our time and effort on? WTF is this shit, man?

It's all bullshit in the end. Fuck it.
