To be frank, the world situation around me is quite likeable (and it even includes muslims ;)) but I can see how it could go either way. But I am definitely not concerned about our current level of consciousness or thinking that we are in need of something higher (whatever that might entail)

I don't like the idea of it at all. So I guess it is a subjective thing :p But maybe we're getting off topic.

Well i don't like the current situation and I see how it can change. All of our difficulties can be traced to a lack of fundamental education in the science of well being.

It's used by William S Burroughs in 'Naked Lunch'.

When they used to hunt whales, they would process the dead bodies in various ways to get the oil, balleen, bones and the meat. What was left at the end was a useless waste product known as drek.
Everything in a whale that humans couldn't use in some way. Boiled down into an homogeneous pool of vileness.

A nasty substance produced by ghastly means.

Not seeking appology. Would it be reasonable to suggest that what you feel is vehemence for the act. Perhaps you may have other feelings about religion in the guise of the experience of your own entusiastic devotion to the good things in life. I don't appeciate the act nor do I dwell on it. I know we get caught up in the news of tradgedy elsewhere. It is natural given the sensitivity of each of us to the violation of anyones innocence. However it might be out of proportion in terms of what we can effectively remedy in an instant with a loving thought. Perhaps the meaning of give peace a chance.

i see. that is far from the dramatically good proportions I am confident exist in you. I have found myself in fish guts many times and it is not something i would be pleasant in advising for you unless you want to eat fish. in that case i am an excellent seafood cook and would love to share the good times with you.

We have variety to choose from but our choices for ourselves we effectively share in the presence of others.

A sense of humour is always an asset.

When I said the accused should be fried in drek I was not being serious.

Okay i checked i think we could legitimately say that the mentioned disgust is a rhetorical device meant to impress severity of the delusion.

Ok.so these guys are acting in the name of Islam. But that dose not mean islam is the problem. Are we gonna say fuck Christianity for the violence committed in Northen ireland? Or fuck Catholics because of the IRA? Let's not forget the west is just as guilty for acts of terrorism. And there is no bigger terrorist the the American government. Where u saying fuck isisrael. When the murdered of 800 children of gaza in July? I may not agree with religion or islam or there opinions but I sure he'll will fight to the death to defend there right to there opinion. I'm not angry. I'm sad. Sad that humans can do this to one another. Sad that it will creat more hate. More intolerance more fear. I ask now will u all be this angry when the next muslim child is killed in Iraq or Palestine? By an American bomb? Or the next women denied hear rights by anti abortion laws? Radical islam has been created as a direct response to western foriegn policy.

The radicals want to hurt people then go to their version of heaven. I have a simple, cheap way to help those we capture.
Any hog farmer can tell you how long it takes without food for his hogs to become dangerous. Simply wait an extra day then insert radical terrorist. The hogs will do the rest and the radicals cannot go to their heaven if they are pig shit.

This seems pretty extreme, Shale. Islam seems to be the whacky-religion-du-jour, but every major faith has had it's turn at being ridiculous (and some still to this day, but on a smaller scale).

On a somewhat unrelated note, when I studied Islam, it did seem to be this most "made-up" sounding of all the major religions. It literally sounds like a man just sat there and conjured his idea of the afterlife and what it takes to get there. But then again, I don't know. Neither do you. It could be the right belief system. You and I don't know any more than anyone else.

Religious fanaticism is a symptom of a sick society. I wouldn't blame Islam. It seems sort of narrow-minded of you. You could say that I'm surprised by you.
