I agreed more with your statement that I liked.

The lyrics are wellment but I never digged the song. Anyway, it is not only about what WE can imagine and want, but also about every other who wants to live their life in peace (e.g. a lot of muslims, christians, etc. etc.). So when you react to such a happening as in Paris with such a general intolerance and urge to convict a lot of people that have really nothing to do with it... well then you are misdirecting your anger.

But Asmo - part of being a fundamentalist is the belief that it is your duty to push it at others - convert them. It's an irritating thing. When it becomes a duty to convert them by force and kill those who refuse, it becomes a fucking nightmare.

You could say the same of all our unworthy determinations. there is a real and comforting thing to be said for every observable phenomena and that is the promised security of science. We know them by the fruit of our own sensational condition or the taste of our own subjective experience.

 

But the world's not ready for that one, either, because you take away religion and suddenly 7 billion people are stripped of their preconceived moral guidelines and left to their own devices. You're gonna have plenty of people who do okay, but there'll be just as many who twist what morality is supposed to be... and the world will be right back where we started. I personally agree with the anti-religion concept, I just think the world isn't ready for it... despite the fact that the world isn't exactly ready for religion, either. You just can't win

So? What does it matter that it is mentioned in their holy books when the majority of abrahamic religious followers are NOT practicing or encouraging slavery, have not murdered anybody and are not planning to do so etc.? It is mentioned in their book thus the religious communities these days must still be celebrating/encouraging it?

Does modernizing their religion means skipping 2000 old parts of their holy book because some nitwits are misinterpreting it? You guys must also have applauded the idea of skipping the ****** word in Tom Sawyer reprints.

I say fuck them because they only serve the purpose of splitting people into groups. And they use their religious dogma to do it with. Whether or not followers carry out specific acts mentioned in their literature, the literature still points out that there is only one way to be; any other way is wrong.

It makes no difference to me whether most of the followers are peaceful or not, they can be peaceful without organized religion.

 

Life can be dangerous. Does that mean we should only tolerate people and ideas we like ourselves?
