I was just wondering if anyone has done a fruit fast before. Basically, if it made you feel better, safety info, what types of fruit to include in a fruit fasting diet in order to get all the right nutrients for your body, things like that. Just something I thought about while dipping a pretzel in blueberry applesauce and eating a banana. Not to mention I just picked up a canteloupe and a honeydew on the cheap cheap. Thanks in advance for the reply!
I'll do a mono fast for a three day span. Usually citrus, grapes or apples. If I'm going longer I try to mix up textures. I'll keep taking a multivitamin. I'm betting veg juice and whole fruit would be nice...... Hmmmmmm..... (Enabler) (Enabler is a good thing!)
Thanks for the reply. I remember seeing something on TV about a guy that did a fruit fast for a while, mainly berries I believe made into smoothies via food processor to restore his health under doctor's orders and he actually flushed out a few parasites from his system that way. I guess I'll probably do some research if I feel like getting serious with fasting, but seems like it could be a good idea. Though, I'm sure a handful of vegetables added with it wouldn't hurt. Probably level out the playing field, so to speak, by promoting a more balanced approach. I'm not in a horrible state of health myself, but I feel like I should be feeling a lot better than I do. Another option I feel could be useful is simply balancing my diet.
In my opinion, bananas are perfect for that, cause they have more calories. And they're yummy. Dates are also awesome, but you can mix any fruits you like! Smoothies are great, better than juices, cause you get the whole fruit, whereas juices remove the fiber. Have fun!
I always take fruits in fast. According to me, banana, apple, strawberries and fruit juice. Dates are also good to take in fast. I like mix fruit juice and salad.
